you know I bought a couple sets of those stabs from Bolsa Supply here in the US, and I was having a bit of an issue with switches returning / plate tolerances. I’ve heard of people having that issue with TX AP, but I’ve not yet had that experience myself.
@@ImOnMy116 I just swapped for TX AP. The Maiz stabs were a bit noisy and had bad tolerances at least on that particular plate. TX Housings sit much better (no movement once snapped-in whatsoever) on the plate and have tighter tolerances for the stems that move in the housings. Can't really recommend the Maiz... Maybe I grabbed a bad set... don't know.
@@wegi7751I’d say not a bad set, I too had issues with them sitting tight without using a stabilizer pad! Will probably just go back to TX AP myself in the future as well
I generally disliked the Maiz stabs a little bit tbh. But in this case it also might be me, prepping them badly... I will upload a new video with a different PCB (with much better LED diffusion) and TX stabs soon.
Vielen Dank. Die Maiz Stabs taugen nicht viel, aber ansonsten bin ich auch sehr glücklich mit dem Board... Mein erstes O-Ring und auch das erste PC Board in der Collection 🙂
I was just checking to see how other people's January sound and I'm running a nearly identical combo. Broken-in Nixies (55g TX XL springs), alu plate, solder PCB, standard 50A, ABS caps, Maiz stabs. I really wish I didn't solder in the stabs because I am super annoyed with them. I can get them working if I move the keycaps just right but they keep sticking and they low key sound terrible. I think the stems are salvageable, though if you were to put them inside a cherry stab housing, which I will be testing out.
Ah damn, that is bad. I also disliked the Maiz stabs but fortunately it's a hotswap build in my case. Changed the Spacebar Stab for a TX AP after the video. Check my latest vid (60s collection) with the TX stab. Hope you don't have to desolder everything...
looks and sounds great! MX Blacks on Aluminum rarely sounds bad, like it in the PC case
Thanks! I need to change the stabs though. The Maiz stabs are a bit disappointing...

👀👍!
sounds great! but the left shift stab sounds kinda off, was the maiz stabs not very good?
