Voice deepening surgery is performed under local anesthesia and lasts for about 30 to 45 minutes.
During surgery both patient and the doctor hear patient’s voice and the procedure is terminated when a certain tone is decided upon. Therefore, patients are able to hear the change in their voices and talk to their surgeons during surgery. Pain is not expected following the procedure and usually patients are discharged within the same day. Change in voice is permanent.

I can’t hear any difference, but I would consider having this operation in the hope it would help. Are there any surgeons in the UK.
