DJI Phantom 2 Lake Alpine

We saw a white quadcopter drone the eighth of August, 2015, go straight through the space where Osprey and Eagles fly to hunt fish on Alpine Lake. The birds had been flying there for some time when we saw that drone go through their airspace. The drone appeared to be flown by a person unable to see it from the shore. It flew from the east end of Lake Alpine off into the horizon and out of sight, at the west end of the lake, where it disappeared. Many people on the beach were upset upon seeing it fly through that space. Drones are illegal in national forests. Lake Alpine is located in the Stanislaus National Forest. We were there to enjoy the wildlife, not to see a noisy piece of plastic fly across the lake potentially endangering the wildlife we love. While this may not be your particular drone, note that use thereof over Lake Alpine is illegal.

It is not on the way to Tahoe - it is located on Hwy 4 just east of Bear Valley Ski Resort - on the way up to Ebbetts Pass.
