I'm an Eagle Scout who grew up fishing in the PNW and earned my rank there. Joined the military right out of high school. Suffice it to say, these materials have been covering my hide since my early years. Polyester sun shirts have been my go to for years, even for every day wear. Never had them hold smell, but others have told me that they have. I wonder if this has to do with body chemistry, or how these shirts were made. They certainly stink after a day of trekking or a week of hunting though. Nylon sun shirts were something that I sought for years that I've only recently found on Amazon. They run for about $20 a piece, same as the polyester ones. The sand colored T's we were issued were polyester, but I replaced them for Nylon ones early in my career. Both have held up well as under shirts (almost like new, even after almost a decade of use). I suppose it is worth noting that the line we used for fishing growing up was Nylon, and it also floated. We'd typically use it for deep water shell fishing like for Spot Shrimp, because it was cheaper than leaded line which was used closer to the surface where floating line presented a prop hazard. Anyway, great video. Surprised it doesn't have more views.
It may be his cultural heritage. I am Italian and we speak a LOT with our hands. Clearly he is passionate about his information and his hand gentures reflect that passion
What about compression strength? Could these also be used for lower level compression garments ( leggings) for those w lymphatic issues like swelling in the legs? Not saying as a medical level garment but lots of us don't need a medical level of compression. Medical leggings are extremely expensive and I think these could work for women w Lipo- edema. One could go down a size if not tight enough. IT would save a lot of money for a woman who is financially strapped and needs compression now.
Wish he would have shared thickness. Which one, in reference to leggings, is less see-through when squatting, bending, etc during weight lifting or exercising???
do you know why we see more options of nylon with high spandex % than poly? like we often see 62% nylon 38% spandex fabric but rarely see 62% polyester 38% spandex?
Cotton sucks at dealing with moisture and linen wrinkles if you look at it wrong and has no elasticity. Don't get me wrong, they both can be great in their own applications but neither can do everything
I came here looking for information between polyester and nylon for camping clothing and this was very helpful. Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
I love these videos. They are direct and short. I need to learn alot in a very short period of time. I appreciate you ✊🏿

When considering skechers socks which one would be better nylon or polyester😬?
Very nice explanation
sir how bout nylon spandex vs polyester spandex, and also about silk, which do you think is the best?
Thank you! Very useful!
Glad to hear that!
Not a word about breathability in sport use? This should be #1 topic here.
what about mixing them both
What kind GSM should I select if I make a polyester legging? Ex-Composition polyester 82% and spandex 18% at which GSM? Interlock or single jersey?
Interesting blend

yes but why?
As i know as both fabric user, usually Nylon is more "rigid/stiff" than polyester.. so they need more elastan/spandex than polyester.
Thank you sir 🙏
Most welcome!

Neither, linen or organic cotton

@noobulon4334 name anything that can do everything in life?
@@iamwhatiam2348 this video is about sportswear and you listed the worst options possible lol
Why don’t you talk about the side effects how it lower your testosterone for males more anymore
I know Polyester lowers testosterone. Does that also apply to nylon?
I've heard linen on the other hand raises it.
