First off love the video series on holster making, it’s so rewarding to learn from an experienced artisan and to have one as well spoken and articulate as you are, these videos you make are invaluable as they will keep this niche but beautiful art form alive and quality and enable so many young people to carry on the tradition. Second of all can I just say how jealous I am that your “lying around” piece of leather is like half my two week supply
Thank you to Denny and everyone SLC for the time effort to put out this information. I would be very interested in the belt also, that kind of info is not being past down and needs to be. When these guys are gone so is the info
Thank you Denny and Springfield for making this video series. Even for ones that have been doing this for a bit there is ALWAYS something to learn. You guys always make the learning of it enjoyable and Denny is an exceptional teacher! I might as well put my hat in the ring and request a video on making that gorgeous belt! LOL
Not sure if this is a dumb question, but do you think it’s possible to make this style of holster for a Glock? I love single loop holsters and I love my Glock. Thinking I need to try it.
Sure you could make this style for a glock. In this video's first episode, we talk about how to make a pattern styled to your gun. ruclips.net/video/6_ZMeW0o434/видео.html
Вот всегда смотришь как делают изделие : вроде бы движения небрежные такие, наотмаш и тяп-ляп, а потом собирают все в кучу и получается красота 😊 Парадокс блин....
Cutting that thickness of leather with a dainty little Xacto knife would be a not fun chore. And can actually be dangerous. Work with lighter leathers can be done easily with a variety of knives. But cutting heavy 10 oz veg tan like that is easiest and best done with a round knife. Just treat it like a power tool when it comes to your fingers. Keep them out of the line of cut in front of the blade. Pushing hard on any knife can end up with a blade slipping out and running over the top of the leather. Great tip in running a glass slicker over the leather at the beginning.
Thanks for the great video, but yeah, what everyone else already said about his fingers. Cringe!!! This guy had way more skill than me!!! I have to put on a band aid just from watching it. 😂
It can get to a point where stropping just doesn’t really help anymore. When that happens you’ve either got to find a way to put a new edge on it, or buy a new one
He made this holster ruff side out because it wasnt lined? Is it bad to have the ruff side against the gun? In other words do you want the inside smooth all the time to protect the gun?
If you leave it rough on the inside the fibers could come off on to the gun. It's not going to hurt it (unless not taken care of), just leave leather dust on it. Over time it will slick down...or before you fold it over you can slick the fibers down and that will help as well.

@@SpringfieldLeather No... You didn’t let the contact cement set for 15 minutes. That’s what editing is for. Just like your camera man dragging the shot across the table at the end of the shot! We get seasick watching... other than that, thanks and I learned some new tricks.
Dang you sure do cut it close with your hand in front of that round knife sometimes. It's obvious you know what you are doing. I am always maybe too cautious where my hands are when I cut leather with a round knife. Great video.
I can’t believe you still have all your fingers, if I got caught with so much as a finger nail in front of my head knife I’d lose all my overtime, you are very good though

Is your stitch Groover reversible for us left handers?

i would likevto see that holster made with bjack leather and white stiches.
Do you all sell the glass tool to compress your leather if so, I need to come in and buy one. Thank you
Just search glass slicker on our site!
What is that edge groover and where do I get
One

Can the edge beveler be too dull ,
It can get to a point where stropping just doesn’t really help anymore. When that happens you’ve either got to find a way to put a new edge on it, or buy a new one

FYI it is possiable that the fibers COULD gum up the action not good when you need to use the gun
A lot of the guys who shoot the cowboy action competitions like a smooth liner... It supposedly helps make your draw a little smoother/faster.
Thanks guys
