    This is bliss to watch. I first heard him on the Met finals broadcast, and I knew he was going to be a star right then. I kind of hoped he'd someday do Otello--but that's just not who he is as a singer. Verdi's loss is bel canto's gain.

    America is so divided. So many black musicians still receive more acceptance in Europe before they make it in the US. I guess it's always harder in your home territory. Thank God it's changing.

      @@Tkimba2 He spoke about being black and having to work harder. Also Jessye Norman and other black artistes have spoken about the role colour or ethnicity play in classical music. If you have a concern with that, talk to them, not me. Argue with their experiences, not mine.
