i actually use show-branch every day - the most useful way to run it is like so `git show-branch --sha1-name --current origin/master` - this will illustrate what commits (with their hashes) i have locally which still not pushed and which commits i might need to rebase over

Yeah, I get it. All the memory it takes to remember the 2 dots (umlaut) makes it hard to remember the 2 dots (colon)
