omg I actually own the lenticular deoxys. Back in 2021 I bought random cards from Japan and one purchase the guy threw one in for free. I thought it was fake until seeing this video!

Japan is weird af, I love it
If the card sold for 8k at peak covid pricing, there's 0 shot they're worth 3-4x that now when the market has cooled a lot, so I wouldn't expect values of anything that has no recent sales data to be at or above the prices they sold at back then
You’re totally right, i didn’t even think about COVID peak, but I do still think this card could potentially be worth more than $8k. With the release of the simplified Chinese version for a raw copy of ~$130 it’s also very possible this card just isn’t as desirable since the same artwork is now available for chesp

The mewtwo gx recently came out in simplified chinese with a similiar knockout tournament release called party of battle and significantly cheaper.
I did see that! Simplified Chinese cards are all so cheap! I have to assume they’re being released in much larger quantities, china is huge lol I’ve never looked into it though
