    Number 16 the catcher is smart behind the plate and makes good decisions, like not throwing to second when he was already safe but instead of holding it he pump faked the throw hard and threw the runner off his game at third and consequently got him. Number 11 is a excellent base runner he's smart, light on his feet, and my personal favorite he doesn't second guess his own decisions. When he thinks go he goes. Those intangibles get you to the next level.

    What's up Jason. Hope your doing great with the O's. And i had a question..I play outfield and I was wondering what 60 time i should be having my sophmore year of highscool. And what arm velocity from OF

    • @JasonKnine
      @JasonKnine  9 лет назад

      Luis Menendez Good 60 times are under 7.0 seconds and velocities over 90 from the outfield should be your goal by your senior year if your looking to play after high school. I recommend speed work 2 times a week. If you do more than that your risking injury. Keep working hard and good luck to you.

    Lucas Herbert is a beast

  • @TheMRBaseballprodigy
    @TheMRBaseballprodigy 10 лет назад

    These kids all look very talented, but the one problem I do see is how slowly some of these pitchers go to the plate with runners on base. I saw it in the last video you put up too! That's why all these kids are stealing 3rd base, not because they are blazing fast. These dudes throw hard and the catchers all have good arms, so if they learned to be quicker to the plate the running game would be shut down

    • @Thesteeke
      @Thesteeke 10 лет назад

      all the pitchers know what they are doing, they are all going d1

    • @TheMRBaseballprodigy
      @TheMRBaseballprodigy 10 лет назад

      I'm sure they are, but if they go slow to the plate like that in college they'll get stolen on every time there's a runner on

    • @Thesteeke
      @Thesteeke 10 лет назад

      TheMRBaseballprodigy the kids running also run sub 6.9 60s and if you are looking at the leg raise being slow, keep in mind that the pitcher has to be quick after the leg raise to be a high velocity pitcher 90% of the time, there are some exceptions

    • @TheMRBaseballprodigy
      @TheMRBaseballprodigy 10 лет назад

      I get that, but no matter how hard you throw, you still have to be quick to the plate. These catchers can gun 6.9 60 guys all day if the pitcher is quick. And you can still get max velocity without being slow on the leg kick

    • @Thesteeke
      @Thesteeke 10 лет назад

      TheMRBaseballprodigy the leg lift shouldn't even matter if its a lefty pitching, and if a pitcher is a 1.4-6 down the mound the catcher should have time to throw a runner out. I get how you are saying that the pitchers should be quicker but they are trying to impress scouts with velo, and most pitchers need a controlled leg lift to maintain velo from the stretch

    I got the catcher at a 1.70-1.75 pop time!! That’s pretty impressive!! That’s better than most pro catchers. Just sayin…..
    Editing my comment…..that catcher is really freaking good. I caught in college and he has quick feet and really fast release. If I was him, I would be on my pitchers ass avout those high and slow leg kicks.
    Why do pitchers do that? Give the catcher no chance to throw someone out with a slow leg kick.
