You are so sweet. This is a fabulous tip, keep up the tutorials. So glad you are better.I am an RN and worked in the OR and your surgery is very rare. I helped on one and there was a lot a X-rays taken during the surgery. I became very ill a week after the surgery, thought I had radiation sickness. Noooo! I was pregnant! it was my first and I was 40yrs old but very happy, thought you would get a laugh! So I never forgot that surgery.
I did not realize you were supposed to cut into the magnetic mat. This alone is so helpful. Congratulations on your recovery. I use Press’n’Seal all the time in my craft room so I will give this a try.
Glad you're doing good. Thanks for this tip. It works great. Just wish my a and b plates, the hard plastic one didn't warp. I rotate every time and the plate still does. But your press and seal works great. Thank you so much.
Owner of Cherry Lynn die company says that Wax paper dulls your dies. So,I would be afraid to use Glad Seal n press. I use Mr Clean magic eraser + rotary brush to clean my dies. Works great. Glad your surgery was successful‼️
Oh, I am so glad to have found your video on this. I too have used the wax paper and it sticks to the back of my paper. You have to peel both of them off, and even sticks to my regular Anna Griffin mat. I'm so glad you are doing well. The surgery sounded very serious, and, in this video, you are such a positive happy gal! I love your videos! I've got some press & seal in my cupboard! Getting it out now! God Bless and looking forward to following you!
I use a single edge razor blade that is in a holder from Ace hardware and scrap lightly, cleans up all ( most) of the little pieces. I diecut a lot a lot and magnetic has lasted a long time. Good video and glad you are recuperating good. Happy crafting!
I am sorry to hear about your needing surgery but glad that it all went well. I have never heard of doing this or the wax paper, as I have only had my Empress for a few months now. I have resisted cutting into my magnetic mat because I was thinking it would be cheaper to replace the clear plates, but I have to say that there would certainly be some convenience & ease to cutting into the mat. I will have to ponder this some more. It sure sounds like it has worked well for you. Although others have said that their clear plates don't warp, mine have since week 3 of using the machine. I've even tried rotating like Jennifer McGuire says to and either I'm not doing it right, or it's just not working for me. So for me, the temptation is to cut into the mat like you do and see if my plates will stay flat. Thank you for these two tips! I have never gotten the brush on the tool to work very well, but I saw you do it with my own eyes and will try to find the foam that you talk about and see if that will work better.
If you watch Anna’s recent videos you will see she cuts into the magnetic mat. It is normal for the glass plates to warp. It’s not just you. Thank you for the well wishes and watching my video. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me. 🥰
Thanks for the tip...I just ordered my Empress last night. I will check oit Anna's videos as I wondered why you would cut into the magnetic mat and it doesn't get all cut up. God blessed you and He obviously wants you around to continue sharing your talents.. I have subscribed to your channel and will check out more of your videos!
I’m so excited for you! Anna’s magnetic mats are top quality so if you are worried about splitting or cutting right through them that really doesn’t happen. It has taken years for my mats to be worn down. And I craft almost everyday for hours! Enjoy!
Hope you continue to improve best wishes and pray for your recovery. I want to thank you for this amazing tip. I just gave up because you can also have the wax paper clinging to the die cut. I was trying to make a Mother's Day card for my mother-in-law and almost gave up. Thank you again.
Questions: 1. How many times do you wrap it around ? 2. Do you have to change the wrap every time you run it through the machine? 3. How do you know when it's time to change the wrap? 4. How are you feeling? Comment: Prayers for your continued health. Thanks for helping us fellow crafters (Edited - Spelling Error)
Great questions! 1. When I wrap the magnetic mat I wrap once on the front mat and tuck the ends behind the mat. 2. Nope it stays on indefinitely. 3. The wrap eventually embeds itself in the mat so if you do need to replace it you don’t have to remove the previous wrapping in the front but the back you may have to peel that off. 4. Getting stronger everyday. Resolving some gastric issues and sudden violent migraines but all is good. 11 more days till the wedding! Thanks for asking!
So glad to hear of your recovery! Blessings that you continue on your healing path. I am new here and have used eax paper before with the results you mentioned? Ehat a mess and SO time consuming! Can't eait to try the Press & Seal. Will be watching regularly. Thx again?❤
Tyfs ❤ I use the same sandwiches you do I had put down the wax paper then my paper then my dye, then the top plate and then ran it through and it never stuck to my mat. It did take a little bit of brushing off, but I’m gonna try this. I did not put the wax paper in between the Dye in the paper that ruin your dies.
I’m so sorry to hear you had to have brain surgery but I’m so happy it was successful and you are back crafting. Thank you for your video. I have Anna’s machine but I also have the Gemini and the Gemini Pro. The Gemini Pro plates are currently stuck in the machine. I contacted the company and sent a video, they said it looks like the gears need to be replaced. Just wondering if you have any tips for getting the plates out. Otherwise I’ll have to purchase the gears and have someone replace them for me. Thank you so much
Thank you so much for the health wishes! I still have 2 other health issues I need to address but overall I am feeling stronger each day. Thanks again for watching my video. Have a blessed day!
Hi so glad you are healthy after surgery. I have a question on the Anna Griffin Empress emboss and diecut machine can you use any embossing folder and diecut with it or just Anna Griffin products?
You can use any embossing folder but your sandwich will change. Have you seen this video? ruclips.net/video/N1dMzH8sQ_E/видео.htmlsi=lYHGiM4Oz4RyWY1S Because of the thickness of the folders you most likely will not be able to use it with both glass plates. So i would recommend creating your own shims with thicker card stock. As far as using dies other than Anna’s you can buy know dies work best with their manufacturer die machine. It doesn’t mean you can’t use them in the empress but they may cut too much or too little. There isn’t a magic formula. It will take trial and error. Btw. I used my mini empress 80% of the time. I hope that helps. Thanks for watch my video and asking this question! 🙂
Just subscribed as your video was recommended to me this morning! Thanks be to God, on your miraculous recovery. The press and seal, sticky side up or down? I’d like to see how you adhered it to the plate. Thank you❤️
Yes. 😊 paper goes on the magnetic mat with the die on top and glass plate on the top. Under the magnetic mat is the metal shim and glass plate. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching my video. 🥰
I love that you asked this question! The press and seal becomes one with the mat. It literally presses into it which in turn would make it very hard to remove. I have found that even though it does this it still works like day 1 of applying it, all the die cutting negative pieces come off the mat with ease. I suppose you could wrap it again but I haven’t found the need. I’ll see about making a follow up video to this one. Thanks for watching! 😊
Why didn’t you wash your magnetic mat? It makes the paper slivers plump and a stiff brush takes them out. I don’t know how putting in the dishwasher goes, but the plates of Anna Griffin, the cameo and mechanical die cutter plates work in the dishwasher.
@@PoshPaperPerfection I’ve washed my magnetic mat in the sink, and scrubbed it with a brush. The clear plates I have almost no cuts into them because I don’t cut into them.
If you’re doing multiple cuts, it would take a ridiculous amount of time to wash the mat after each use. If you’re are only using it once and done, that would be an option, but the press and seal seems like a perfect solution.

Thank you so much for watching! Sticky side down on to the magnetic mat and folded under. I’ll try to record a short on the application process. ☺️
Are you cutting into the magnetic plate?
Yes. 😊 paper goes on the magnetic mat with the die on top and glass plate on the top. Under the magnetic mat is the metal shim and glass plate. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching my video. 🥰
