- United Nations General Assembly holds a special session in response to US veto to Palestinian state’s UN membership. A vote on the draft resolution saw 12 countries on the Security Council backed Palestine recommending full membership to the state. Meanwhile, Israel summoned ambassadors of countries that voted for full Palestinian UN membership "for a protest talk" on Sunday, a foreign ministry spokesman said. The draft resolution called for recommending to the General Assembly "that the State of Palestine be admitted to membership of the United Nations" in place of its current "non-member observer state" status, which it has held since 2012. UN recognized Israel without recognizing Palestine.... hahaha recognize the land grabber before the owner. How shitty is that. UN veto power is useless, it should be removed and set a more reliable voting system without any veto, ex. Supermajority votes of 2/3rd is needed for major issues. As another alternative, veto can be considered if majority of the security council voted for it, 3/5.
If the UN is really in the side if peace in the world, then abolish the veto power and adapt the majority vote which is 100% fair!!!

The veto privilege must be eliminated if effective peace and security of the international community is to be realised. One country while at other times joined by other country with veto CANNOT continue to exercise its veto vote in bad faith just to protect its twin country while aiding and abetting peace and security in war torn zone where thousands of human lives mostly children and women are killed without regard for proportionality, international law, international humanitarian law, international criminal law, international human rights law, Geneva Convention, Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties.

The veto power must challenged in UNGA. Where the majority members vote against the veto, the veto becomes nullified and anew vote becomes adopted.
