Woah, man! I know I'm 2 years late, but I just tried this on my brand new Fender Tele, and there it was. I never noticed it, and now I'll never NOT notice it (if I don't install an extra string tree.)
I noticed this right away on the new sonic series. My Affinity has 2 string trees & Sonic one. I tried back filing the nut but still has it. Just add another string tree.
I know im late. Great discovery! Now i will be listening for that ring sound for the rest of my life. Thanks for showing a problem AND adding a solution also 👍
I also have a similar issue with my 2021 Indonesia factory Squier Bullet series tele, which only has one string tree. Kinda sad that some of the main product line Fender guitars do this as well. When I restrung, I tried winding a lot more string around the tuning peg for the G string to improve the breaking angle at the nut, but it didn’t make a difference. I might have to do even more next time, and if that doesn’t work, I may add the 2nd string tree. Funnily enough, the Chinese production 2022 version of my Squier seems to be a top loading bridge unlike mine, so less like a more expensive Fender model, but it also has 2 string trees, so it doesn’t have the same issue!
I have an American Deluxe Telecaster and Custom Shop Stratocaster I have known this for 12 years my fix was to tune my strat to E flat and to fix the tele I install a small fishing weight with the black rubber in the middle the weight slot goes over the string nicely,takes care of the D note noise.
3 Strats at home now, and I've fostered up to 11 at a time over the decades, around 100 total and all but a few America-made. I've very much enjoyed imagining whose hands some might be in today, and what fun each artist is having. The ring isn't inherent to all of them and I've never had a comment or complaint in practice, or recording or live about it being noticed, much less interfering with anything. It exists in some Strats, yes and noticeable at times if practicing without an amp. Dampen it if you prefer to but respectfully, don't worry over it. It's alright. I've noticed *some* also tend to have a sympathetic over-ring at 12th fret 1st, 2nd (most commonly) or 3rd string as well, just on a regular played fretted note regardless of where strummed between the fretted note and bridge. Set up as you wish, then love them up with all their pimples and big toes and whatever each individual character. You cute lil' ol' wood and wired sonic-treasured babies, you.... there there, my lovely ringing Strattie-pies....muah...

Actually, I've known this for zonks. My '65 Telecaster has a second string tree, and I just put a second one on my mate's Highway One Tele because of the awful break angle and overtones. Pretty much solved it. String trees are our friends -- Hug 'em!
My 97 american standard strat had 2 string trees...so I never noticed that. American Strats had 2 string trees for a while, I'm sure for the i97, but certainely not the only year. Anyway, thanks to let us know, I have another strat 2015 and I'll check that out.
after messing with guitars for 17 years ,all I can say I like way more the design of the pegs position on Fender. Its easier to tune all on the same side, and the tension feels more consistent, plus you can choose with the string tree some degree of those extra harmonics... also, the people who dont like it grab some cloth around :)
I also play my electric late at night without an amp, that's how I learned when I first started playing because I got one of those Pig Nose amps with my first guitar and it died within a week lol. I have a Squier Strat and I removed that second string tree when I put on a set of strings with a wound G string and I think that dampens it a lot. The More You Know 🌈⭐ hahaha 👍

FretWraps String Muter - put it above the nut www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FretWrapSm--gruv-gear-fretwraps-single-pack-small-black (if you don't want to spend any cash, you can make something from an old sock and rubber band).
Hair band or fret wraps.... They also make a 3 string tree that uses the original hole specifically for this problem. "Sympathetic Overtones" This is a problem if you hang all your guitars on a wall and play loud music or have a sub nearby... all my guitars will start vibrating. I just put capo's or a hair band on everything.

Make a video called "5 Reasons Why Fender Stratocasters Are Better Than Fender Telecasters." Then the opposite which is "5 Reasons Why Fender Telecasters Are Better Than Fender Stratocasters."
That is what you get with a Mexican Strat take it to a luthier and he will solve your problem I have had a bunch of Mexican Strats and I never had that problem it could your nut are your frets might need to be leveled good luck.
Try using a USA string tree that might help like I said I have had a bunch of Mexican Strats and I never had that problem I have had buzzing problems but I just installed a bone but and that got rid of the buzzing try going to Guitar Center and try out some Mexican Strats just to see if any of there guitars have that problem that you are talking about.

That's called duplex and is incorporated in the design of Steinway pianos, it brightens the sound. In plucked instruments it is very undesirable.

That ringing is just the "Jaguar Spec" model. You got a lucky one!.
i have made my main guitar with a pickup there.as well after the bridge inbetween the trem and bridge..the sound is acctually one of a kind.

I noticed it 10 seconds into playing a 1 string tree guitar. I stick a little bit of cotton right behind the nut.

Not all USA Strats have a single string tree. My 88 American STD has two from the factory.

A lot of guys just tie a piece of fabric just behind the nut to prevent this.
My American 88 and American 95 Strats have two trees.
This is why I use Jimmy Clips
A 3 string tree will work too.
