Great video overall! Super fair comparison. We do want to mention that in the video the quality of our imagery seems to be a lot worse and blurrier due to the fact that the camera recording our Night Operator MAX seemed to be out of focus throughout most of the video. This is evident when you look at our battery icon in the video and it is quite blurry. Therefore, the NVG30 with it's onboard recording function tramples the perceived outcome for us in this video. If you watch the full length video on our channel we show the clarity of our displays. We are constantly improving our products, and our end goal is to provide the most affordable solution possible for those that are just really casual about it and want NVGs for fun! Anyways, amazing work Urban Survivor.
I noticed that actually. I have a Night Operator PRO and MAX and it looks nothing like how it is shown in the video. In fact when compared with my Prowl its quite similar in display quality. It's likely because the camera in this vid was shoved all the way against the tube diopter and phones cant record that close without losing focus.
Hey Night Operators, I appreciate the response. I mentioned in the video that the quality of the image through the viewfinder does look better than what I was able to depict using my smartphone which I had to use to capture moving shots. It was very difficult for me to focus on camera. I've seen it work better on your channel with whatever camera you were using. Glad to link to your video showing that if you want to send me a link.
Must admit, recording what I see isn't important to me, and you can find silicone or rubber covers for exposed charging ports online. Still.... I'd get the NVG30. No comparison in terms of image quality and details.
Nice video.. Thanks. I commented on a previous video asking about these. I'm glad you were able to get one compare. I ended up going with the NVG30 and I'm glad I did
Can we get a NVG 10 vs nightoperators MAX 2.0? It seems like price wise, those 2 are more similar, kinda like a dodge challenger vs a ford mustang. The nvg 30 at $450 and MAX 2.0 at $200 felt like a lamborghini vs ford mustang. Thoughts?
Don't buy the Night Operator. I did, there are defects on the product and they want me to pay to return it to them even though I took a shipping insurance. The problem was reported the day of the receipt. Terrible after sales service
I love how Max 2.0 mimics white phosphorus look of an anlog tube, it's a kind of look I'd like to get in my military grade nv one time. Currently considering buying NVG 30 and I guess I would pick Max2.0 if IR wasn't an issue.
Hiya lad daft question here bit but in terms of the nvg 10 and 30. I’m aware of the resolution improvements but is there any changes I.e between the internal screen size of the units?? I have a 10 currently and considering on getting a 30 to bridge with my Gen 2+ mono which will let me do hands free recording and such while I’m out, want to test with the 10 first to see if the screen dimensions and such are worth bridging
Hey PreppedScots, my apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I just put together a comparison photo to put their screen sizes through the viewfinders and FOVs into better pespective - imgur.com/a/L9d7rxy . The NVG30 is out of focus but I dont think the NVG10 and NVG30 would be ideal to combine based on the differences in picture size and FOV. Hope this helps!
@@UrbanSurvivor cheers for getting back to me, just had a look there and aye can see the nvg 30’s screen is a good bit larger in comparison to the 10, might be worth giving the 30 a shot with Gen 2+, hell even if it’s just flipped up out of the road for recoding might be worth it
@@PreppedScots Yeah I think youl will be impressed with the NVG30s recorded footage especially! It is a bit brighter through the view screen, but still pretty good on the recorder!
What's the battery life like on the NightOperators? The Prowl can operate at 60hz after a software update. The NVG-30 still outclasses both of them. Looking forward to the Opsin comparison. My son bought me an NVG-30 for my birthday on APR 20 or 21, but it hasn't arrived yet, I cannot figure out how to track it, so I'm kinda nervous right now.
I sent you an email response a few days ago Billy. We are backordered on the NVG30 but there's a chance our shipments will go out this week and then you will receive tracking info.

they are similar in many ways including screen resolution and FOV. The biggest difference would probably be the terrible lag I started to notice on the prowl, which was not present on the Night operators max 2.0. The prowl has a better UI and video recording, but overall i'd say the night operators unit offered better performance.
How does it work as a hand held unit ? Neither my wife or I want to mount it on a helmet or like . we would order one from you now but must wait for a reply from someone . Thanks much
What Iblike about this reveiw is it deosnt simplifyed NV and its functions like most channels. But it deosnt shit on digital like youtubers with anolog. You go into detail, somthing most digital owners wont do.

I think recording on and photo taking on a nvg is a stupid an complete waste that's not what they are for when you combine stuff it makes them not as good or reliable

Could you compare the max 2.0 to the Nightfox Prowl?? Seems like a more comparable battle.
How about a NVG30 vs Sionyx Aurora without using IR lighting.
Love my NVG30, but the Max 2.0 looks like a good alternative for my friends who are on a strict budget.
I would prefer the Max 2.0 over the Prowl and other sub $200 units.
