Frankly, I wish the division point between the Ainokaze Toyota Railway and the Echigo Tokimeki Railway was at Itoigawa Station, not Tomari Station almost in the middle of nowhere. Itoigawa is a natural division point because of being the northern end of the Ōito Line, the location of a Shinkansen Station, and the fact the dead section between 20,000 V 60 Hz AC and 1,500 V DC overhead power is just east of Itoigawa.
