Sean and Kaycee’s contrasting emotions made me both angsty and laugh at the same time, Sean was probably just happy dancing and stuff but it still worked out story telling wise, the girl’s mad and the guy’s not taking her seriously and then at the end he realizes how serious the issue is so it gets intense in the end and Kaycee leaves. BOOM! MIC DROP! POETIC CINEMA!!!

Can everyone please stop slamming Kaycee for walking off the dance floor? It's called a storyline. Kaycee was playing the role of a woman who was overdosing on a love that was toxic for her, and although she was fighting to hold on, she knew it was right to leave. It wasn't "too emotional" or "too intense" for her, she was playing the part beautifully. If you listen to the lyrics, you'll understand better. Also, she's almost 16 years old, so give her a break. She moves and expresses herself like she's 25, but remember that she's still young and coming into her own, so she doesn't need any pressure to be any more mature, especially with one of her best friends. You don't know her or their relationship so let them figure it out for themselves and portray the story how they want to. Can't wait to see what Kaycee and Sean continue to do as dancers together and individually!

Sean Lew is so amazing at interpreting this song from a unique perspective and Kaycee is right there supporting him. As I watched his expressions contrast with Kaycee’s it was so powerful. It’s as if Kaycee is thinking of all the good times they had together after the break up and he’s portraying the boy she remembers. The memory of your past love is at times excruciating because even good memories can haunt you since you know they’re no longer possible. He was so brilliant to portray her memory and she depicted a person tortured by those memories extremely well. They’re just beyond. I absolutely love them and their connection. Best story tellers.
wow incredible interpretation right there!! I wouldnt' have thought of that in a million years! for me, kaycee is portraying a girl in an abusive relationship. It's like she's fighting him, his flirts, all of him because she still loves him but realized that he's not giving her anything while she gave her everything to him. She decided to run, but it is impressive how much she fought just to get out of his gravity. I think it's beautiful, cause IT IS a difficult choice and they portrayed it so well at such young age theyre awesome!!
(Late I know) I followed the lyrics. That this was a toxic relationship, and that the boy truly loves her. But his love is toxic and she had to get out of it, and that's why she fought him.

Sean and Kaycee's performance has me crying over here. That was amazing. You can tell by his face that he takes great pleasure in the times that she dances amazingly and it just went beautifully with the song. I hope they go on to be dance partners for years, they add so much more to a performance than just the moves.

When I watched Sean and Kaycee's, I don't know why but their story telling capabilities made me feel like they are portraying a toxic relationship, especially with Kaycee's expressions. From the beginning of the combo down to their freestyle, it's like the guy is oblivious with the toxicity but the girl is aware and has had enough of it, trying to breakfree from everything while the guy is trying to hold on. Truly phenomenal dancers!!

Simply just wow...theres nothing more i can say. From camera work, to choreo, to song choice, to dancers...im just blown away.
I don't know why, but the part that grabbed me the most is 6:57 to 7:05 when they're spinning across the room, like the "love" is finally spiraling out of control and one person is trying to escape while the other is desperately holding on.
maybe i'm being extra but i swear to god kaycee&sean's duo will be the death of mine and i love it.

From what I can tell...what makes Sean and Kaycee's interpretation stand out is that it has a sort of "narcissist/puppet master-victim" vibe to it whereas all the other couples, including Jojo and Rudeboy, have a "we both know this is bad for us and should leave but we're going to try to stick it out until it's killing us." I think this is a smart choice. The original interpretation is definitely a situation a lot of adults may encounter in life and the other couples seemed old enough to have gone through that at least once as well. Sean and Kaycee are still young enough that I hope they would not have encountered that. Their approach is fictional and documented enough in psychology, movies, etc to be doable without experiencing it first. It's possible to be manipulated by someone who enjoys it at any age. Nice to see all the contrast between interpretations and a sensible way of doing a very adult duet by younger people.

In addition to their natural chemistry and so-perfect-it’s-almost-scary synchronicity, another thing I love about Sean and Kaycee is that watching them enables me to really appreciate all the details in the choreography. Their form is so very clean and precise; plus they express every single movement, big or small, to the fullest. (And all of this while somehow still maintaining each of their unique style...) Choreographers must love them for this. And so do I!

OK so ALL The couples in this set the floor on FIRE. JoJo and Donovan are so HOT and intense and intimate, Josh and Erica move so fluidly and with such gorgeous lines . . .and then there's S & K who are evolving their natural connection with such delicacy and passion -- it's interesting to see the difference in how physically close the older dancers are with each other - nose to nose, almost kissing, while there's still a level of youthful restraint and reserve between S & K - their connection is intense and intimate and we're actually getting witness it as it grows. Jojo and Donovan, this was a gorgeous piece. Thank you so much.

Im guessing Kaycee played the addicted trying to get away from the addiction itself, not a specific person, Sean, hence his crazy/creepy facial expression contrasted with being a little hurt of being rejected. And how he catches her and lifts her up, making her loose control, trying to get her to stay and become more addicted, just like addiction does. Clever!
Ps, I know the choreo was about this in one way or another, but In S&Ks case the storytelling was really clear and interesting.

I feel like Sean's Smiling as part of the Theme Cuz he does it every time she tries to "Shut down" like 6:23-6:27 is a prime example....they intertwin there hands but then she pulls away from him and looks to the ground and starts shutinng off...SO sean gets closer and get her to look up lockes eyes with her ( song says but Im Addicted) sean flashes his smile knowing he won again... they stand up and continue there "Dance" but Kaycee is pissed because she still addicted to her Addiction Sean.
Then if you watch every time he touches her grabs her smiles at her is because she shuts down or stops Dancing....He cant let her stop there dance or she'll be over the Over Dose of Sean ;)
Megan Alexander: I see it as Sean's character is the addicted one. Kaycee's is trying to get away from the toxic love that Sean's has for her. Chasing her and being very clingy. She can't take it anymore. But I guess it is like a painting. People interpret the meaning behind it differently.
