I think the people who say that Lain wouldn't be listening to breakcore aren't differentiating Lain before she became Lain of the Wired and Lain from before they. Lain would've listened to this originally but she would've expanded her musical tastes online as she'd get exposed to stuff. Just like we can enjoy and appreciate different types of music, why can't a fictional character do the same?
