- In this review from our stay at Secrets Papagayo in Guanacaste, we share our thoughts on this beautiful Costa Rican property. This was my wife and I's honeymoon! We had an amazon vacation filled with good people, good food and adventure.
From the moment we arrived at Secrets Papagayo, we knew this was going to be an amazing vacation! The staff are world-class and the property itself is absolutely stunning. How does tipping work at the resort and on excursions? I've heard tip amounts aren't like what they are in the US. Did you use US currency or Colon?
Goofy question… how do you get from the airport to the resort and back? Do they have a shuttle service?
There are taxi's and shuttle services at the resort and airport. Getting around wasn't a problem at all.
Great video! How was the food?
It was great! The pool food was just “ok.” But breakfast and dinner options were very good!
What room category did you stay in?
We stayed in the Standard Panoramic View room (up on the hill overlooking the bay).
You did excursion's... Were they also inclusive?
They were not included. We went fishing for mahi and marlin and we visited the hot springs.
Who did you go fishing with?
We went with CR Sunrise Sport Fishing. We booked through the Amstar Office. They picked us up on the beach at the resort. Here's the full fishing video - ruclips.net/video/3EbwQuTHwDo/видео.html
Were there any monkeys on the resort?
No. The monkeys were further inland in the jungle areas. There we iguanas EVERYWHERE though. And racoons that scavenge the resort at night.
When we were there in 2016 we had Howler monkees asbove our door as we would walk out.@@nadamsga
Any night life
Yeah. Really small pockets of bars and clubs around the resort. The resort has various events going on scheduled to late in the evening. Day time pool bar is where it's at though!

Are there day excursions into the rain forest?
@@scotbarlow213 there are! We did an a day trip to the hot springs. Which was a lot of fun.
No more covid testing thank goodness. Refuse to participate in that lie. But great video
