The JG custom shop is AWESOME. I have a pair of buffalo Rangers and a custom pair of barefoot buffaloes. That stuff is bulletproof but a bit stiff. I break in my boots (that need breaking in) by filling them with water (remove any insoles first) and wearing them with thick wool socks until dry. Repeat if needed (I have only had to repeat it on one pair).

The new custom tool is great! I’ve never heard of filling them with water like you mentioned, but that seems like a good way to speed up the molding of the lasting board.

The grain character on the RTW African Rangers looks awesome! Great looking boots you got there

    LOVE your custom choices.
I really think the Extra midsole makes this boot, And is the toecap different from your old pair??
The new boot toecap almost looks stuctured in comparison to the older pair??
I love your new custom boot, in fact, I like it so much i think i would like to order Exactly what you've order.
May i Ask exactly how you ordered or defined the differences and customisations?
These boot deserve more attention, and i think your video will have a massive impact on this well deserving company.
Look forward to a update in a few months.
    Thank you.

Thanks, I am really happy with the boot. The toe cap may look different because I had the custom model double lasted so it has three layers of leather at the toe while the off-the shelf boot only has two layers at the toe, plus the off-the shelf boot has been worn more so the toe is losing some of its stiffness as it breaks in.
I ordered the boot on the standard JG last, in buffalo leather, it is double lasted, and I selected the leather midsole, and olive threading on the stitch down.
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy your new boots as much as I like mine.

    Enjoyed all your JG videos.
I have the buffalo hide Rangers as well and love them. I suggest to try a pair of there barefoot boots. Have a pair in the veg tan leather. Love them. So comfort.
I just placed a custom. Getting the Numzaan boot made to the zero drop last. Can’t wait to get them. On these I got them in the Houston Brown. They will be double last leather as well with a leather mid sole and leather lasting board.

@xplorsocal2222 They take some getting used to but when you do you won't want to go back. I have two pair of barefoot Rangers that I wear all day every day but alternate to mitigate my chronic athlete's foot.

The custom with leather midsole boot is about 1.1lbs heavier than the RTW.
