We lost a beloved neighbor and friend a few years ago. Her son is autistic. He’s in his 30’s, and he began to make steampunk sculptures from old junk he found. They are amazing! It is how he dealt with his grief. Autistic people seem to have a wonderful creativity in my experience.
Kenan, my professional background is in the field of special education, and I currently work with families who have children with Autism by teaching Sign Language to help improve communication skills. I absolutely loved this video! Thank you for sharing your visit with Shannon.

@@boyubao5859 he didn't die in the freezer, if that's what you're thinking.lol the t was sick and died and they ended up putting him in the freezer after death to keep him from decomposing before they could figure out what to do.

You should totally keep him! It would be great to keep up with them both and see how things go and how to take care of different tortoises when that’s not their natural climate! It would be great to see and learn about how you work around geographical barriers with animals.

This is off topic of video but I'm a new mom to a Sulcata hatching (2mos) and am trying to make sure I'm feeding right to avoid any health or shell problems. I use alfalfa pellet to line his enclosure. He eats like he is starving so I feed him a little in the morning and a little in the late afternoon. He doesn't like hay too much and I don't see him eating the alfalfa pellets very often but I do see him trying sometimes. I used it so if he did eat it it would not cause intestine problems as happened with my Iguana and walnut chips. But I don't want him to over eat also. What do you think?

I found your channel by accident. I'm so happy, I'm doing a marathon to catch up on thing's you have posted. I was given a desert tortoise that was a baby , the lady moved to Germany. The baby is two and a half. Black shell. Yellow head and legs. It's parents are the size of soccer ⚽️ . I was too scared to take them as my yard is quite small. So to help the lady out I took the baby. He or she is doing pretty good. As it was raised in captivity. I don't think it would do good in the wild. I have learned so much from you. And if I had to choose, to get a baby tortoise I think I would definitely get a Red leg. Thank's for the info and your videos. Really love your family and the channel ❤️
That’s true but he has a lot to do already let alone adding a new animal that he need a new enclosure and new mates to go with the animal. It’s a lot of work so I can understand why
These also aren’t the best conditions for star tortoises, like kenan said, they aren’t the biggest fans of humidity, and he’s going to be outside in Florida so it could negatively impact its health
He’s had star tortoises in the past and they did not do well at all because of the humidity in Florida. He had to give them away which is how Shannon got it.
Could you ask her what type of paint she uses? And whether or not we could donate some unique colours for her projects? As a studio artist I always have extra of, well, everything, and am always looking to donate some of the more interesting colours to good causes!

He could get him a female and name it Shannon

Parker they require 80% humidity. It’s not that they don’t like humidity, it’s the Florida is 85-90% most of the year.

I believe it’s acrylic. She talked about it many years ago in one of the episode series videos.
