Fayetteville is about to annex 100's of forested acres right near Trilith, in the middle of housing developments and schools. The land has been earmarked for data centers (the Cloud). These are large warehouses filled with servers and surrounded by high security fences and lighting. The amount of electricity and water needed is enormous and will be detrimental to Fayetteville's infrastructure. The number of jobs to be created is minimal. The negative impact on the environment and wildlife is frightening. Depending on the architecture of the centers, they can be extremely loud all day and night. Development will take 10 years or more so construction vehicles will be clogging our roads. Do your homework before you move to Fayette County. The Fayette County Development Authority can make secret deals with big business and then direct elected officials to annex and rezone...no questions allowed. Actually, this is now common practice throughout Georgia. Lots of angry citizens in Social Circle, GA, too! Look up RIVIAN Opposition Group.
I grew up In North Fayette near Hollyfields Mansion. The county is definitely suburbia to an extreme. Nothing to do in the sense of recreation. No clubs or top restaurants. It was always about having giant houses and even more so giant lots. While surrounding counties started to develop their cities with things "to do" their Houses started to shrink and lots were shrinking. The one saving grace from the past was Fayette County had some of the lowest taxes in the metro besides Clayton County. Its a county that is geared to affluent family life. My parents have asked me many times to buy in the county but for me at 36 I just dont know if I would want to return there literally is nothing to do.
You are right. If you are looking for a thriving night life with night clubs, Fayette County is definitely not the place. Although there are more and more places with live music. The Fred and Southern Ground Amphitheaters have some fun concerts. It is more geared towards quiet life with youth sports, and outdoor trails, etc. I appreciate you watching!
Thanks for watching! You’re right, there are no nightclubs or anything and we treasure the seclusion. But depending on what you are looking for, you can find a lot to do not far away.
What do you think? Is the cost of living in Fayette County GA worth it?
