Why Rajamouli's films always work is because he is honest about what he intends to deliver in his movies. He provides us glimpses into the world he's building in his films to give us an idea of what to expect and hence when we enter the darkened theater to watch his fare, we're not disappointed even when the flights of fancy that he takes often get too much to digest. NTR is a natural actor. He is extremely confident and his greatest strength is his dialogue delivery, but the basic template of his performance is almost predictable but also safe. He cannot fail, however could get predictable as you keep seeing him.
Ramcharan is like a sword. He completely surrenders to the director. A sword is only as good as the sword master. In the hands of a buffoon like Boyapati (VVR), the sword will look lame. But in the hands of a master swordsmen like SSR or Sukumar (Rangasthalam), he is a deadly weapon which kills on contact.

Regarding the one-dimensional depiction of the British in the movie, it's interesting to observe how we want to see the British colonial empire as this character that feels remorse at what it's done. Sardar Udham Singh did depict the internal conflict of the white person that ordered Jallianwala bagh massacre, but in the end he never conceded that what he did was wrong, nor his actions had any lasting impact on his life. In fact at the end of the movie, we see him consoling himself that what he did was right and that we deserve it. The British colonial empire maimed, raped, killed, destroyed and wiped out entire civilizations (I'm not talking about just India). You should read books like "Why Nations Fail" to get a glimpse of the range of destruction these guys were capable of. And expecting grey characters from such inhumane beings is not fair. The movie depicts the British as one-dimensional because they indeed were. The grey-ness of any character or personality comes into play if he or she treats other human beings as equal or at least has an inkling of that equality in their consciousness. The British never did. Not just towards Indians, but towards any non-white ethnicities. The movie is accurate to what it showed. Governer Scott brutally murdered Alluri Sitaramaraju at the age of 26 by trapping him in a forest, tying him up to a tree and getting him shot. What grey-ness are you expecting here?
Also, the movie is not about Freedom struggle, but about the decisions that two friends had to take because of the circumstances that they were eventually put in, and the ramifications that these decisions have on their lives. It's about the emotions that they have to go through. I'm not sure about the ages of the folks in this thread, but if you ever had to go through a situation in life where a choice of you decides with irrevocable finality whether a person will continue to be in your life or not, you'll properly connect with the emotional struggle that these characters are going through.
Also, if you're more influenced by western-style movies which justify each and every action with a science backdrop, (say Interstellar, The Batman, Dark Knight Trilogy etc. etc.) then SS Rajamouli's films are not something that you should look forward to. This guy is all about relationships, bonds and emotions between human beings. He grounds his movies in Myth. Even the action in his movies is there to support only the emotions, not science.
Today, even westerners are loving this movie because they haven't seen many movies depicting the Indian mythology, while we Indians argue with each other on the correctness or believability aspect of it. Looks like the British colonial empire's attempt to break the spirit of the brown people and to pit us against each other has succeeded so well that even after 80 years of independence we can't come together to support each other :(

The visuals of this movie were absolutely wonderful. You will see, during the scene in Scott's Bungalow, that only the respective elements of the characters are showcased during the fight scenes. It begins with a lot of fire around the bungalow, as Ram speeds into battle, however as Bheem is provoked and decides to fight Ram, a water fountain nearby breaks and water just beautifully enters the frame. You can clearly see the symbolism between Fire and Water as Ram and Bheem fight each other.

Are you kidding bro? NTR had the bigger challenge he had to balance so many emotions. He was innocent, timid, shy, overwhelmed because he came from the forest and thats all he knows. Hes uneducated and had to interact with high class white people in very lavish settings. He’s genuine because he doesn’t have much exposure. Thats why he had to be so expressive. You are knocking points down for him because he was so expressive compared to RC’s more clam self. RC had become stoic and callous due to losing his father at a young age. He didn’t have to be much expressive with his expressions because he lost all his emotions when he was a kid itself due to losing his father. He only had one goal which drove his life.
Although RC did full justice to his role, NTR’s role was much more challenging as he had to emote many more expressions- and like in Komuram Bheemudo song (the crucification episode) NTR had to emote weakness, tiredness, pride, strength, pain, betrayal, strength, hope. Imagine having to balance all these opposing emotions in just one song while standing still purely depending on body language and facial expressions.
In my opinion, RC had the better charavcter arc but NTR had the more challenging character due to how many emotions he had to emote to project his personality.

SSR time and again proved that his vision is gigantic and his execution is fantastic. But don't expect him to cater to your intellectual capabilities. He touches your heart with his perfect portrayal of emotions.

Although his characters are always larger than life superheros his actors are never bigger than story itself.
That's what sets him apart from other directors that he always makes sure storytelling and engagement is biggest selling point and all other cater to that cause, even King Bahubali gets humbled within plot and he delivers on point with emotion and culture of our people.

Rajamouli's movies are like that buffet where a whole lot of food items are on display and you don't really know what to take on your plate and what to drop. So you try taking a bit of everything and end up relishing the fare as well as overloading yourself to the extent you are not sure if you have been able to digest it all. But it will still leave a sweet taste in the mouth when you reminisce about it some time later.

The advance bookings are low in the Hindi belt 'coz people are treading cautiously post the Radhe Shyam debacle and waiting for the appropriate response to the movie to determine if it is worth watching or not. Perhaps it might grow by word of mouth or people's desire to witness a spectacle on screen post Baahubali. The extreme marketing machinery and hype will get bums in theaters for sure though.

@@koolprince9301 It's not like he is not creative. He literally have wide aspect in making movies which is incomparable to most of the artist. But sometimes it seems like he knows how to use people emotions/sentiments for making them watch a movie. The budget seems a bit extra for the type of concept he choose because the character he took are from real life and giving them over the top actions, that it just seems little off. Now mostly south movies focuses on heavy bgm which makes us feel goosebumps only because of beats rather than storyline. His techniques are more suitable on superhero type concepts where there is no need to find logic in actions rather than historical concepts taking common people and making them extraordinary powerful. Like when I watched the movie I was mesmerized more by only the visuals and VFX rather than the actual story. But yeah, this movie is gonna hit only because it's of SS Ramajouli. Tbh Bahubali was still better and in my opinion his best movie will be eega where he clearly shows aspect of fantasy in real life with no exaggerated scenes and no over the top budget. No hate just a opinion. And people blindly follow all of South movies hence it's rating is 9.2 which is too much and its kinda overrated. There are many more deserving movies which even didn't get the rating of 8. And now a days people clearly can't even keep their opinions freely if they didn't like these movies that much because toxic and obsessive south cinema fans will eat them.

The lead characters depicts our freedom fighters.
    BUT
In SEETHA RAMA RAJU character we see lord SHRI RAM he promised his father for that he left his village,
He is intelligent. He never rely on his power he will use his brain like how ram kills vali in ramayana
In KOMARAM BHEEM we see BHEEMA from mahabharata he is very strong he eats so much. In climax he throws a pillar away. It shows how strong he is.
This is the fusion in between the great two epic ramayana and mahabarat characters.

Rajamoulism can become a newly coined term to describe the phenomenon of Rajamouli in Indian cinema. He has indeed brought the glory of Indian cinema back!

As he said the movie is great but not phenomenal.. Ram Charan's character was literally FIRE.. Complex and intense and he nailed it through and through.. Jr. NTR's character was just like WATER.. Calm.. Simple.. strong like sea waves when needed and emotional which he did indeed induced in the audience.. But for me Ram Charan did really stood out between the two.. And that "Lord Ram or Alluri Seetharam Raju" getup in the end was just 😍😍

After the pandemic many Pan-India movies released such as Marakkar, Kurup, Pushpa, Valimai and Radhe Shyam.
But only Kurup and Pushpa(in some parts) worked.
I think RRR is the first successful Pan-India film and now KGF and Beast are on their way.

Bro KGF was super hit and everybody waiting for next part....
Vijay doesn't have good track record in Hindi dubs.... Remember Puli which released just after Baahubali and the recent Master movie? It may do well in Tamil but Hindi no chance.... RRR will be still running and very tough competition with KGF2.... Jersey also releasing!
