Why does everyone criticise Israel, but no one ever mentions the terrible things being done by the Russians in Ukraine?
Bingo.
The short answer is… (Condemning Russia) does not allow for effortless sanctimonious, superficial, simplistic, one-dimensional virtue signalling.
I was excited for this podcast as I generally appreciate CSIS's work, but I was extremely disappointed in your guests characterization of Israel's behavior in Gaza, I winced when you all spent not a _word_ mentioning the eye popping fact that Israel has killed more children in this conflict than in any other this century (and 40,000 Gazans overall). Shrugging off Israel's decision to collectively starve the civilian population (as documented and reported by multiple aid groups) as "fighting a war in an urban center" was pretty egregious as well. Sorry guys , please do better.
I was thinking maybe I will unsubscribe. This conversation was so bad, now I will question anything coming from them. Things that are not clear for me I can't rely on this channel.
This was so painfully bad, that to tolerate this much inhumanity is too far gone for me.
So I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess the focus of this is to support Israel, which is fine for you since this is the current u.s. position.
Israel is of course however conducting genocide in Gaza, so to deny this is horrible. Also horrible to deny is that Gaza would do v the same so I have difficulty supporting either.
