This is so sick. Hats off to the the modder! The sub-phases add such a cool touch. This just feels more in tune with the lore to me. Really brings Melania to life as a true formidable opponent. Now that must have felt truly rewarding to complete.
Why do so many people hate this? Yes I can see malenia is very clearly 100x harder and has impossibly difficult mechanics but come-on it looks cool and clearly whoever made it put a lot of effort into it, I wouldn’t try this mod but I sure all 10 people it was made for will love it it’s well made and gives me the option to not kill her
Right? It’s a mod, not part of the game itself, and even then the original Malenia is entirely optional. Mods like this are made to serve as a challenge, and if people can’t handle it, then they clearly shouldn’t worry about it. Plus compared to some other boss mods, this one is very well made
Because most Elden ring players can’t beat normal malenia without a crutch like cheese or summons, so they get offended this mad lad done something much harder

Gotta say, her first phase looks like a genuine improvement. She's no longer passive as hell and how smoothly her animations blend is kinda satisfying. Of course, it then promptly devolves into AnyRadiance style nonsense, but still it has some very neat ideas with storytelling during the fight. Well done!
The first phase looks awesome but the second phase just seems like a complete chaos. It's not particularly fun to watch and I can't imagine it being fun to learn and fight. Still tho the new moves look very impresive and I admire author's creativity

I love the permanent aeonias. Really feels like a fight on the scale of Radahn. Seeing her fight with the helmet off was very refreshing. I think some of the animations were too fast and felt "unnatural" during phase 2 but overall it's so great to see this boss get so much love from the community. The only thing I cant stand in the fight is her wings. It's just too much visual clutter when I'm supposed to be watching her sword and animations and then suddenly my whole screens taken up by her wings and particle effects.

I really like the idea of a rot pool forming and her having a rot aura that slowly builds up your meter. It makes a lot sense for her to have that, even though it would make her fight even more stressful. And being able to use the needle on her is such a cool idea as well.
I thought I was good at normal Malenia but this...I don't think I could beat this. If I had to try I'd use a ton of levels on vigor and use damage and rot resistance talismans and hope for the best. This was fantastic. I love this mod and thank you for showcasing it. Saving her at the end is awesome as well. I bet fighting normal Malenia for you now is like fighting her in slow motion lol

I like her being a lot more aggro and the Holy Malenia phase, honestly her being even more aggro in pre-bloom seems more fitting to me. The visual clutter and undodgeable status buildup is not welcome though.

All of ur changes were exactly what I was thinking. With them added it would actually be a really really fun challenge mod that is still super difficult. Even if this version wasn't intended to be beat, a toned version would provide a very good challenge for those who've already beat her normally dozens of times.
Honestly, whilst I know for a fact I would struggle with regular Malenia, this version is a whole different level of difficulty... and weirdly I love it! 😅😂 I like that you can save her instead of kill her too with this mod, providing you did Millicent's story. 😊 Loved the clip.😊
I actually feel like, barring the rot fog, the rot aura and her botched superarmor she has from the original fight, this is actually a great battle. The permanent Aeonias probably arent the best thing to have in a soulslike battle but they fit super well as an MMO-style mechanical test - maybe if her first Aeonia was larger but always aimed in the middle, where her rot pool normally is, that'd demonstrate that they're permanent while not asking you to manipulate its positioning until the second and third ones? Though I would say giving her a big HP heal as she goes into final phase feels silly. At that point you may as well just remove the heal and add it to her phase 2 health bar so it isn't a "haha, gotcha, you thought you were at the end!" moment. We already have enough of those in the base game, no need to add more in mods.
I can't imagine ever playing this. It just looks unfun and more BS, even if it looks really cool and lore accurate. 1:55 Also, this is absolutely how Waterfowl Dance should have worked in the base game.
PS. new update, she does that one when she is in buffed form for entire phase, it is NOT fun, every hit stuns you for a bit and the final flurry throws u in the sky

Phase 2 is some kaizo bullshit but honestly phase 1 is actually pretty cool. Some of the extra animations look a bit goofy but most of the new phase 1 attacks blend well with her base moveset. Also the helmetless Phase 1.5 is pretty sick ngl.

I remember the sense of awe at seeing first hand how Radahn held back the stars. I realized the true measure of a demigod that day. This display of Malenia finally gives me that same feeling again.
There is one, its called Berserk Radahn. Shits crazy. He has a 3rd phase where he just starts calling down stars on your ass. Unalloyed Malenia is probably still the harder fight, but Berserk Radahn is a fucking cinematic masterpiece

This is a cool mod and I love the helmet break + moveset. I do think the only reason it hasn't been beaten is because nobody has heard of it though. Sort of like Any Radiance for Hollow Knight. Maybe after this video there will be a 5x more difficult Unalloyed Malenia 2.0 and a race for first completion.

The problem with having a bunch of mods is that the community will be split, so we need to wait longer to see then OR wait for a popular content creator to close their eyes and pick one.
This could’ve been an incredible fight for ng+ instead of the same fight with more damage and hp. It would give a reason to play ng+, similar to terraria’s expert mode, as you would be fighting a version of the boss with different ai and a better reward

I agree, the wings are a huge problem for visibility during Malenia's phase 2. It can completely block your view of fast wind-up attacks sometimes.

This might sound weird, but her first phase looks so much more malenia? Like the aggression and the clean rot spells are so cool it kinda looks better than base malenia. Not super sure about the multiple permanent aeonias but still a cool phase 2 too

Phase 2 is some kaizo bullshit but honestly phase 1 is actually pretty cool. Some of the extra animations look a bit goofy but most of the new phase 1 attacks blend well with her base moveset. Also the helmetless Phase 1.5 is pretty sick ngl.
This is so fucking cool, true anime shit. Lore accurate Malenia. The whole fight felt like an impossible dance. This and that Malevolent Genichiro mod are the coolest boss fights I've ever seen in games.

I remember the sense of awe at seeing first hand how Radahn held back the stars. I realized the true measure of a demigod that day. This display of Malenia finally gives me that same feeling again.

We need one where we have radahn buffed, and some falling star beasts that fight u and radahn as a 3 sided clash
There is one, its called Berserk Radahn. Shits crazy. He has a 3rd phase where he just starts calling down stars on your ass. Unalloyed Malenia is probably still the harder fight, but Berserk Radahn is a fucking cinematic masterpiece

1:17 i mean malenia would be mad about the helmet because it was made by his brother with all his love and empathy to try to free her from the scarlet rot so its understandable
This is a cool mod and I love the helmet break + moveset.
I do think the only reason it hasn't been beaten is because nobody has heard of it though. Sort of like Any Radiance for Hollow Knight. Maybe after this video there will be a 5x more difficult Unalloyed Malenia 2.0 and a race for first completion.
There are already a few other mods which make Malenia harder, so the race is kind of already on

The problem with having a bunch of mods is that the community will be split, so we need to wait longer to see then OR wait for a popular content creator to close their eyes and pick one.

This could’ve been an incredible fight for ng+ instead of the same fight with more damage and hp. It would give a reason to play ng+, similar to terraria’s expert mode, as you would be fighting a version of the boss with different ai and a better reward
