Winnions we got a new one! Glad you’ve enjoyed it so far! I think you missed the hand animation at the end, but he did indeed drop the baby. Anyways, someone else already mentioned different motifs but specifically you can listen for the “danger” motif! You can hear it being played by the viola during the battle section in song 1 :D That motif comes up throughout the musical, but it’s not always played by the same instrument, or even an instrument at all, so keep a lookout :) And a final note, different characters are associated with different musical instruments! So that’s another thing to listen for
Don't' worry about pausing and talking. The animatics really add to the experience. Its enjoyable watching someone get to experience it for the first time. Sometimes you just got to ride out the vibes and talk afterwards. Also I love you have musical knowledge, but also say things like "that voice has some meat in it" Cause yeah, it absolutely does. Anyone who hears Luke Holt sing as Zeus will immediately know what you mean. This was a good reaction, can't wait to see the next one.
Winnions, we have another! While you say you don't have time, try to pay attention to repeating musical motiffs, Jay (the song/story writer and Ody's voice) is skilled at using repeating simple musical motiffs for both symbolism, being easy to enjoy, and keeping every song at least somewhat internally consistent despite the vast changes of genres Also "we won't know". *Stares at the hand holding the baby open up* ...yup, wont know...yup...
Welcome to Epic the Musical Here are the fun facts about it. 1) The creator of Epic Jorge rivera herrans, or you can call him Jay easier. Sing as Odysseus 👑 2) Each character in epic has significant instruments for that inspiration. Jay when he was young watched Peter and the Wolf musical. 3) Jay is a big fan of anime and video games. You'll definitely feel the vibes further more in the songs. Be sure not to get unfinished/wip/snippet animatic cause it ain't the full song. To answer your question. 1) The man in the clouds is Zeus. 2) Yes, this Odysseus story.
the hand opening at the end of the animation is confirmation that he dropped the baby. the original version of the animatic didn't have it but the creator confirmed you are meant to know at this point that he did it and the hand opening was added to the animatic.
WINONS UNITE. Welcome to EPIC! Loved your reaction, please don't feel bad pausing! make sure that you have a friend or someone you trust make a list of animatics for you. sometimes creators accidentally find old animatics that don't have the full versions of songs. Also please DO take the time to break down every motif. Jay is *very* good about motifs. They are important :3 ^^ Super excited to see you react to the rest of the musical!
Subbed. Welcome to EPIC! Almost everyone I know who are fans of EPIC love extensive analysis, to the point where many reactors will watch various different fan animatics of the same song to compare them as well. So you should be totally fine with plenty of pauses ☺️ We all also have our own favorites list of animatics for every song, I'd be happy to share mine and I'm sure others would as well
I’m glad you liked this and I hope you continue! If you’d like a playlist with all the animatics in order I made one on my channel you can use. As for the baby, the hand opening at the end of the animatic shows he did drop it.
Another interesting detail that i haven't seen mentioned here yet: Every voice you hear, including background voices, exists within the epic universe. Unless the background vocals are accompanying a God, because God's can summon background vocals for dramatic effect
Not saying you should post it all in one video, but if time allows, watch each saga in one sitting. It helps understand the story and themes better. I look forward to seeing your reactions
WELCOME! Here in the Epic Fandom, we love greeting new friends with open arms! We don’t mind pausing and discussing, that’s actually like a big thing in the fandom on RUclips is reactions, so I’m really excited to see how you react.
Some things to note about the animatics: 1. For the Troy and Cyclops sagas (the first 2 sagas of Epic) most animatic videos for them (except the one used in this video) use the old versions of the songs instead of the new ones. Jorge had to remake the songs for the first two sagas as he couldn't get paid for them otherwise, so if you notice audio quality differences between the albums & animatics for them that's why. 2. Animatics are fan-made, with the ones commissioned for the livestreams considered canon. If you don't have time to watch the full livestreams for reaction videos that's fine though, it's not a requirement. 3. As far as I know the only other animatic video that uses 2 songs in one is one by Ani Tigerfly for the Thunder Saga in act 2 (ruclips.net/video/29z2ooCYGfE/видео.html), which coincidentally is also for the first two songs of a saga. If you'd like a full playlist to help you out then consider using this one: ruclips.net/p/PLxaQhCe0jHN7xFJxvNlCW7HtQyxnPxAbr 4. Not related to purely animatics but while Odyssey knowledge can help it's not required due to Epic taking some creative liberties in its adaptation of the story.
I have watched so many reactions videos of Just A Man and so many of them use the wrong version of Gigi's animatic. You are one of the handful that actually played the correct one. The one that answers your question "Does he do it?" and literally a second later it shows a hand opening up implying Ody drops the baby and I yelled "YES! FINALLY!" for you to only follow it up with "Guess we won't know until the next video..." and I was like "what? Nooooooooooo!!!! The one time the correct one was chosen and they didn't catch it! " lol It was definitely a funny roller coaster of emotions I went on. Also, about the whole "pausing so frequently" thing. 1st, do what makes you feel comfortable. 2nd, if you would like a suggestion, I would like to pitch the following idea since there is a potential issue of losing certain elements in the story either musically or visually: Since you are reacting to animatics, start your video off (after your usual intro) with a unpaused reaction so that your audience can enjoy your reaction in REAL time. Sometimes, you might find that your questions get answered in the next few seconds of the song. Basically, you and your audience is taking a moment to appreciate the story. Then, restart the video for the Analysis portion of your video. And then you can pause as much as you want to enjoy the musical elements. (or you can do it in the other direction: Analysis first, then Reaction) I have seen a few reaction/analysis videos of where people were missing the impact the song was supposed to have in a specific moment because they paused right before a big plot twist and because they were so focused on the analysis that by the time they switched their brain back to "enjoying the story" they had less of a satisfying reaction to that impactful moment.
It didn't even register to me that it was a hand dropping that blanket, in the moment. If you want a good laugh, I actually thought it was a mic-drop, or something else that wasn't video-related.
Ethan: "Is he gonna do it?" Odysseus: **lets go, pulls out bat, and brings justice down upon this enemy of Gotham** "And we won't know until next video"
Awesome video cause Epic is definitely a great musical in my opinion, you should do a reaction to Phineas and Ferb songs, they are some of the best songs ever made and on-par with Epic's songs, I STRONGLY recommend: Somebody Give Me a Grade Robot Riot I Ain't Got Rhythm Rollercoaster Song Summer Belongs to You Perry Come Home Gitchie-Gitchie Goo Watching and Waiting
Oh my dude the mountain of feels That are going to come your way with such banger.Songs are going to have you question your morality and fixation on myths
Background vocals are important in epic because mortal characters don't have them unless it's actual characters singing but Zeus is one of the gods so he can do whatever he wants with his music

I should warn you now: Jay (the creator/voice of Odysseus) is not afraid to make you cry, for so, so many reasons.

@ what a coincidence. The baby’s name happens to be Micheal. So yeah….Mic drop indeed…
I’m kidding. The baby’s name is actually Astyanax.
Im so glad you enjoyed the songs here! The story only gets more intense from here
Your started down a rabbit hole in a great way. Can’t wait for more
Welcome to Epic the Musical ❤ Realmente me encantan las canciones. Espero que tambien las disfrutes 😎😎
Ethan: "Is he gonna do it?"
Odysseus: **lets go, pulls out bat, and brings justice down upon this enemy of Gotham**
"And we won't know until next video"
Hahahah - I love these comments. Hindsight is 20/20
Welcome
I think the most important Odysseus line for the whole show is in Just A Man. And it isn't necessarily the Monster motiff
Awesome video cause Epic is definitely a great musical in my opinion, you should do a reaction to Phineas and Ferb songs, they are some of the best songs ever made and on-par with Epic's songs, I STRONGLY recommend:
Somebody Give Me a Grade
Robot Riot
I Ain't Got Rhythm
Rollercoaster Song
Summer Belongs to You
Perry Come Home
Gitchie-Gitchie Goo
Watching and Waiting
Oh my dude the mountain of feels That are going to come your way with such banger.Songs are going to have you question your morality and fixation on myths
Sick lets go
I bet you saw him dropping the baby at editing and said "perfect moment to look away from screen good job past me"
Exactly my thoughts, haha.
Background vocals are important in epic because mortal characters don't have them unless it's actual characters singing but Zeus is one of the gods so he can do whatever he wants with his music
If you notice, the hand opens at the end. He did drop the baby.
You should do the next 3 together because it's the end of the saga epic is split into Sagas I see them like an episode of a show
7:20 Erm... Well, actually 🤓, it’s a viola.
I advice you to listen to the songs alone without animatics then later you can watch them to complement your own opinions.
