    • @christschinwon
      @christschinwon 5 лет назад +1

      He's deserving of it but it's likely he's been promoted where others have been relegated. Cleese for example was a national treasure who mistakenly spoke his mind on being in favour of Brexit and it all came crashing down!

    • @shefmeisterextraordinaire3717

  • @HoldenMcGroyne81

    I liked it. Coogan had obviously done a LOT of work on it - songs and all. But perhaps the character, being Portuguese, was not as accessible to the British as Paul and Pauline Calf, Alan Partridge, et al.
    And his new creation being less than massively successful (although it was hardly a DISASTER) the tabloid press (who never liked Coogan anyway) LEAPT on it - ensuring its demise...

    Impressions, although it might be a correct word, I wish Clive would describe Steve Coogan as an impersonator and not an impressionist .
    If he did a "sketch" circa 1875, as and artist, he could say I am impersonating an impressionist.

  • @MrAristaeus

    It’s quite surreal to see his comic genius scythe through the 90s mediocrity of Clive Anderson amidst the horrendous canned laughter. It’s odd too to see Anderson’s lame attempts at finding an angle on Coogan’s ‘rude’ show as if trying to rile him somehow by not so subtly accusing him of sharing the same characteristics of his fictitious creations and then immediately attempting to put words in his mouth by suggesting that Coogan thinks that his audience is somehow stupid. You get the sense that Clive Anderson knew he was flailing and didn’t have the necessary clout/gravitas to be in front of the camera in this format.
    Coogan is, as ever, flawless in his delivery and deftly sideswipes these attacks.
