My mom was a coal miner’s daughter. Born in the coal camp Delagua, Colorado. She lived 97 years married to my dad for 71 years. I’m their only child. She passed 17 May 2021, then 8 months later my dad passed. They both were in home hospice when they passed. The day my dad passed the police were here. One of the policemen looked at me and said, A home of good people or it is good to be around good people or something lie that. I just wish my parents could have heard that. Maybe they did??????? My mom’s dad and mom, my grandpa and grandma had 7 children. My dad’s parents of whom both died before I was born had 7 children. My mom and dad went to see Loretta Lynn when she performed here in Denver. Now she is gone. RIP to all of them.
You have certainly had a rich life. My maternal grandfather was a coal miner (born somewhere in eastern Europe), so that makes me the son of a coal miner's daughter.
@@michaeldeponte8066 You just hit the nail right on its' head! I would throw Brenda Lee into the mix, but she was more rock, but went on to record C&W. Also, Brenda Lee is the one who helped Loretta gain a recording contract with DECCA records!
She sings this song with so much pride. It just goes to show that the main thing a child needs is to be loved and, when possible, have both parents raising the child. RIP, Loretta.
She was very close to her father. She woke up once crying that her daddy was gone.... later on she received a phone call telling her her father had a stroke and he had died. Years later she saw his ghost sitting on the front porch of their old abandoned home..... RIP Loretta. You are with your beloved daddy once again.....
You've got to live that life to be able to appreciate it. That's the soul of America. Most of us weren't born rich, but a few of us get the opportunity.
I regularly drive past her part of Tennessee (even though Butcher Hollow is in Kentucky). I have fished Hurricane Creek that runs through Loretta's ranch. I remember once waving hi to her husband Doolittle while I was wading the stream. He was in a Jeep, and it was a sunny summer afternoon. I think it was the summer of 1984. Now when I am in the area, my eyes well up in tears thinking about the past, and saying a little prayer for her and her family. How quick time goes by.....rest in peace Loretta Lynn. There will never be another like you.
Rest In Peace, Ms. Lynn! ✝️ Best wishes to your loved ones. 🙏 This “Coal Miner’s Daughter”-her classic 1970s song-tells the autobiography of her life in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky, also became the storyline of an Oscar-winning movie adaptation of the same name. Thanks for sharing this video! 🌷
Oh how I LOVED her! I'm from Lee county VA all men in my family were/are coal miners. I've lived in Johnson City Tennessee since 89 ♥️ my country roots God Rest Her Soul
I remember when I first saw the Loretta Lynn biopic COAL MINERS DAUGHTER on cable. With Sissy Spacek portraying her and Tommy Lee Jones playing the role of her husband "Mooney" in the movie...the main attraction were Lynn's music and lyrics. I started to listen to Country Music after this. It was sad to hear about her stroke in 2016. The loss of a true national treasure. Requiescat in Pace, Loretta Lynn.
My mom took me to Nashville on vacation in 1980 and we heard that a few day's earlier the movie company had let in people to be extras on the movie. My mom talked about that for the next 30 years.
My grandma loved Loretta. She grew up in Inez Kentucky, her dad was a coal miner. I am 34 and have always loved Loretta. I play her music often and always think about my grandma. ❤
What a beauty! That soulful voice singing from experience. And it’s lovely to hear a song about one’s humble working class background that isn’t about how now we’re rich or how we want to be rich. It’s truly a lost art.
One of the very best! She is so natural and her own compositions always tell a story. I admire Loretta Lynn so much. What a talent...wonderful that her recordings will live on forever! Thank you for this fantastic "clip"!
RIP Loretta Lynn - one of the best Queens of country music. The film of the same name, starring Sissy Spacek, had me laughing, crying but most of all enjoying so much the music of Loretta Lynn - music which will live on forever! God bless ya Loretta ❤️
This song, this lady....gives me goosebumps. As the Possum asked "who's gonna fill their shoes?". The answer is, sadly, no-one. None today can match them.
Seems we've all come together on here to mourn the loss of an earthly Angel, and as well the birth of a True Heavenly Angel. Praying for Peace, Strength, Comfort and Happiness for All of Ms. Lynn's Grieving Loved Ones. May God Bless And Bring Comfort For All. R.I.P.
One of her best live versions to me! No it’s her best live version! Just something about it compared to the others! Being on his show brought the best out of everyone I guess. She nailed it! Was beautiful as well.

Country Soul.
This, my friends, is country music. Her music is so insanely catchy and drenched in emotion, unlike half of what you hear today.
You've got to live that life to be able to appreciate it. That's the soul of America. Most of us weren't born rich, but a few of us get the opportunity.
RIP Miss Loretta
Never forgot her roots.
Amen Brother She’s the real deal No one will ever replace
Yes, thankfully she never went all "Hollywood"! I like artists whom are natural and never forget where they came from!
I don't care... There will never be another Loretta Lynn ever 😭💔!
When Loretta is singing you can see the emotions in her face and thinking back to those days. It’s so beautiful.
Like Hank Williams, this woman simply was Country Music. We'll never see another so honest, so authentic, so truly great.
