    Thanks for the support everyone. However people pointed out some mistakes:
    - The Giulietta is not based on the platform of the Punto. The Giulietta was the first car built on the C-Evo platform, that derives from the older Fiat C-platform of the Fiat Bravo.
    - The DNA system does not change the suspension, it can feel a little like it howerer because of how much else changes in the car.
    - The Giulietta Quadrifoglio is not a 2 liter but a 1.8 turbo.
    We don't like making mistakes. But we love the community, thanks for pointing these things out. ♥
    For future episodes we will do more fact checking before release!

      giulietta is closer to fiat tipo/bravo than punto ... not the same thew - rear suspension is multi link only on giulietta.

    guys, the Giulietta is based on the modified platform of the Fiat Bravo (not only suspension, front and rear axle but also torsional rigidity and types of materials). The Multiair engine you tested made its debut on the Alfa Mito for the "Quadrifoglio Verde" version and was subsequently extended to other cars of the entire FIAT group. The defects of this engine lie precisely in this revolutionary valve lift management module "Multiair" that in the event of poor maintenance or use of the wrong oil, breaks. Other known problems concern the electrical cables in the trunk that break (as on many other cars), delicate interior door handles, the Blue&me infotaiment control unit that could break over the years, or the air conditioning internal air recycling system. Otherwise it is a very reliable car, one of the best to drive and certainly the most beautiful in the segment.

    I’ve bought 2011 Giulietta 1.4 TB TCT in 2023 as my first car. We spent a lot of time with the wife choosing a good car for us and when we found Giulietta we said in one voice “that’s it!”. Really beautiful car and we love it really much. The owners say that reliability wise it’s much better than previous Alfa’s. Can’t complain as now I’m putting it in a shape after previous owners, but so far - pure pleasure

    Een mooi review, dankjewel! Ive had my Giulietta 4.5 years now and love it, its a late 2010 model but with the 2.0jtdm engine. I wanted the multiair engine but the diesel has grown on me. Watching your video reminds me of driving my Giulietta from Ijmuiden to Harlingen & back in 2022, en route to Vlieland.

    Good review. I drive my second Giulietta and it is a very reliable car.
    But I have to say two things:
    The Giulietta is not based on a Punto. The platform is called "C-evo" and was derived from the Fiat Bravo. It was developed completely new and the Giulietta was the first car that was sitting on the platform.
    The DNA setting does not change the dampers. The Giulietta does not have active suspension. So the suspension always stays the same.
    Otherwise very good and informative review.

    Looks good, drives well, reasonable fuel consumption, disadvantages? Of course it is, many parts of this car are literally a piece of crap. Every year at the beginning of winter there are entries on the forums about broken interior door handles. Instead of cooling, the air conditioning may start only heating on one side because literally a 1cm piece of plastic will break off. Additionally, the air conditioning activators that control the temperature are failing, they are almost inaccessible and you have to literally disassemble the entire interior to replace them.

    Thanks for a great video. I agree entirely with your smiles; I have a Giulietta 2.0 diesel and I feel just the same about it. It is a practical daily car (take the kids to school then drive to work) but it makes the everyday into fun, in a way that perhaps only an Alfa enthusiast can understand. It is cheap to run, tax and insure, it has been very reliable so far (170,000 miles) and it makes me smile. Helps that it is red with black leather seats.
    I was wondering about your comment on the suspension change in D, but you are right when you say it feels that way - I think it is mostly due to the change in the steering that you feel the suspension has changed too.
    Anyway, great video; thanks for that :-) Tim

    • @dutchcarguys
      @dutchcarguys 2 месяца назад

      Thanks very much, we think the car has a good balance between fun and being daily driveble.
      The fact we thought the suspension changed was indeed because of the feel in steering (we think, we talked about this a lot).
      We hope you can enjoy your Giulietta for a lot more miles!

      @@dutchcarguys Thank you; I hope so too. It feels like a keeper to me. Interesting your chosen car is a Volvo. If it weren't for the Giulietta, I would probably get a C30. My wife has an XC90 which she loves: great for the kids and their friends, pulling things, and superb comfort and safety. I kind of like it too, but not like the Giulietta :-)

    • @dutchcarguys
      @dutchcarguys 2 месяца назад

      The C30 is also a really good driving car! One of the best driving Volvo's if you ask me.
      The fact I chose a Volvo is purely because I drive about 200km a day and was looking for something reliable and safe. But tbh I don't like the steering of my V40 that much so I'm starting to look into something else.

    • @timgillison1175
      @timgillison1175 2 месяца назад

      @@dutchcarguys Good to know that about the C30. I must confess I was going purely on looks, perhaps nostalgically thinking of a 480. I suppose I get so bored with most modern looking cars that appearance is getting more important to me. There is a lot to be said for safety too though, so I get that. I think the Giulietta is relatively safe (especially compared to the BSA Shooting Star that I would really like to have :-) ). Anyway, I am sure nobody wants to indulge my nostalgia :-)
      Thanks again for a great video :-)

    Nice review but the car is built on a heavily modified and upgraded version of the platform used on Fiat Bravo platform and it is one of the best platforms in terms of passenger protection and driving dynamics in its category at that period. It is also used by the Dodge Dart. (Lancia Delta of the late 2000s had the simple Bravo Platform). Fiat Punto platform was used on the Mito again with alot of modifications.
