Thanks Jim! It's typical Chicagoland driving, although I was surprised at how heavy it was this particular day. The next video features another tango with a problem driver. Problem as in idiot, not psychopath.
Fun fact: US 30 is at least 4 lanes wide for 377 miles from New Lenox, IL to Canton, OH. I wonder what the record is for a continuous stretch of US highway of at least 4 lanes in width.
Thanks! I don't mind the traffic as long as it flows. Grinds to a screeching halt on a freeway? No. But yes, the traffic has grown since I first started using this 20 years ago.
Good to see someone in my neck of the woods. It's all familiar territory, but it's still fun to look at. Great video! Sorry you caught U.S. 30 when you did.
True, but keep in mind that many wired light setups in Illinois are temporary. They'll be a permanent light there someday, but these are cases where they need a signal now (and probably programming the money for a permanent signal or road improvement to accompany it.
Many are though the light at Riverside and McFarland in Rockford has been there for over 20 years the one at Bell School and Gilford has been there a long time too.
Not all the traffic lights in Illinois are post lights in fact I know of 5 intersections off hand in Rockford that aren't. I know you said you get tired of seeing post lights we get to see some wired lights for a change here.
TheSolarcatcher thanks man because from I-40 to union city its at first farmland but then it starts to get more interesting with interchanges, some urban/farm devlopment and then it turns into a 4- lane freeway from martin-union city
