@CaptainSwoopty yes, I know but I once had a friend who had a BMW and he drove it like a grandma 5-10 miles on the main road lol back in high school. Slow or fast they are fun to ride in. I don't care for the speed of a BMW, I like the cruising.
well most of these High performance cars are a waste here in the US, unless u drive alot of highway 70mph miles. what are you gonna do, beat me to the next red light 100 yds down the road?? big whoop.
It's great to see that someone finally got lucky with a BMW. I've owned a few high end German cars including BMW's but after purchasing my first Toyota Camry I came to realize that I was being used as an unpaid research and development dummy all along 😳
It means you simply don’t enjoy a driver’s car. A normal commuter who doesn’t find the fun in these type of cars are just buying them for the name compared to someone who actually gets entertainment from driving a well rounded car.
@@bacKw0odz driving is one of the most boring things to do in life.. It's NOTHING more than a means to get things from point A to point B by aimers.. 💯💯

I've a 20 year old BMW M3 with right at 100 thousand miles on it. The past several years it's cost me about $5000.00 in repairs and standard maintenance. When I bought it used I knew it had issues and am Okay with the costs. At this time it's an entirely reliable fun comfortable car to drive. No regrets.
E46 here too! I was gifted one by my fiance😁 I do miss my '76 2002 tho. That was one of my best cars. Got it when I was 16... sadly sold it in my early 20's. 🥴
I smiled throughout the video. I am one of the guys who buys a car and takes care of it. 19 years later and my car drives as well as when it left the factory. I have had people leaving a note on one of my previous cars wanting to buy. I like driving a clean car that has smooth performance.
I'm betting that the rod bearings were replaced at some point. The E92 V8 like the E46 M3 are going to need rod bearings at some point due to BMW being more concerned with the environment (the alloys used from the factory are not robust enough for these engines. The E46 M3 has a red line of 8,100 rpm and the E92 M3 has a red line of 8,500 rpm) than they are for the longevity of the engine. After market replacement bearings are bullet proof. All the true M cars are race cars. I own both an E36 M3 and an E46 M3. Greatest driving cars ever made.
If you put aftermarket rod bearings, the engine will not be as ‘snappy’ as it is out of the factory. M engines since the s54 s62 are high revving race engines. There is some maintance that comes with that.
I don’t feel comfortable buying a used German car or luxury car from a dealer, because I’m always think most of them were leased. And why would any car owner care about a “rental”? If I were to get one, would prefer it be from a private seller or BaT.
I have owned many e36, e39 and e70s and they have the same issues as others, starters, water pumps, etc. I would not say BMW are money pits. I do my own work so that helps but I have not issues with them.
Never thought we'd see Scotty praise a BMW. The German built M cars are really built like tanks. I own an E92 320i myself (straight 4 cylinder i know) and swerving around corners in that thing is super fun. Such a drivers car especially with a manual transmission. if you can't afford the V8 even the 320i or 325i is perfect, it's the chassis that makes these cars so great to drive.
A friend of mine had one of those. Got rid of it after 6 months because it was a nightmare money pit. Never got it to run right for a week straight. Tried to warn him but wouldn’t listen, lolz.

I've owned a 3 series and an X3, never had major issues except for oil leaks which is a normal BMW feature. 2006 and up are a lot of reliable than the older E46 tbh but E46 parts are cheaper and easier to work on overall.
Have you had your rod bearings done yet? If not be sure to have your oil analyzed. You need to send oil change samples to Blackstone (google it) and change that oil every 5k miles no matter what BMW says. Doing this will tell you the condition of your rod bearings by the amount of metal in the oil. Gives you a heads up to change those bearings before you destroy your very expensive engine.

Yeah but he's trying to make money as far as I know all of them work on a small retainer & make their money on upsell of the vehicles they sell so of course he would say that.
It is akward to recommend E92 M3 to people, this model is known for rod bearing issue. Even compared to same period W204 C63, this M3 is a little inferior, because the M156 in C63 is way too good.

I owned a 2008 M3 sedan 6 speed manual that I bought for $25,000.00 Canadian in 2014...that was a great price at the time as the car was mint and low mileage.
It was a beast.
I should have kept it but I buy my cars, enjoy driving them and then move on to the next one...I've owned over 30 exotic & performance cars during my lifetime thus far and have enjoyed every single one of them.
Any research on the B58? Been hearing a lot of positive things about it…
It's amazing
very solid engine
My question (from an old folk) has nothing to do with cars: How can I get the same energy Scotty has????????
Hi, what's the symptom for a bad fuel filter for a 2003 Nissan Frontier? How to fix it?Please help, thanks...
Take it to someone that you trust & get them to put a scanner on it , it maybe something else.If it is the fuel filter get them to replace it. Make sure it is oe specked not made in china. Hope this helps.Cheers.
Scotty nice video. You are a good Hombre...👍😎
These newer, BMW M3's from the late-2000's are nice performance vehicles.
Older ones are more reliable
My cousin says you can never pay too much for a good used car. He knows because he sells them and has done so for 3 years!
Yeah but he's trying to make money as far as I know all of them work on a small retainer & make their money on upsell of the vehicles they sell so of course he would say that.
“When the ash trays get full I get another car”😎
I assume this is a car that is seldom used and stands in the garage nearly the whole year.
Did I just watch Scotty approve of a BMW? 😂
Best way to buy a BMW buy a Lexus or a 2012 and down Acura TL
It is akward to recommend E92 M3 to people, this model is known for rod bearing issue. Even compared to same period W204 C63, this M3 is a little inferior, because the M156 in C63 is way too good.
Yeah but c63 also got issues...
Nothing drives like a BMW M car. Drive one and you will know. The rod bearings are fixable with outstanding after market bearings then no more issues.
@@sdschei How about Porsche 911s? I don't believe that Mpower is the best. Don't be fooled by these marketing bullshits. Try different cars as much as you can and pick the one that fits you the best.
@@GoldenCroc I know, I have one. No car is perfect, most of the problem of C63 are at the top of engine, slightly easier to fix. The bottom is bulletproof.
@@LongLi-iy4je Its a treadeoff in the end, depends on what you like. Personally I am not a fan of the way Mercedes does some things, so they just arent for me. more power to those who like them.
BMW M engines of the 2000s has had shameful reliability overall, thats why I got a non M 3 series. Much better for my needs.
I'll stick with my 98 328is 5 speed!
I seen a old man take and walk down his cane to pickup a penny. I would have picked up the penny if I had known what he was doing. But he was wealthy like he needed it. Yeah that's why he was wealthy you talking about the quarter reminded me.
God bless all!
Scotty enjoy a BMW M engine powered e92 with one of the last NA's treasures of the world.
Don't sell it
BimmerN53
BMW Mercedes oh the price of VANITY!
Rod bearings?
Hey scotty, do you have a car repair shop? I really wish I could meet you with my car.
