I copied this method and smashed her legendaries this is the most amazing strategy I've ever seen thanks so much you've got yourself a warm hearted sub great work
It's not needed though and those six extra turns per match really make the process even more tedious than it already is. If the extra turns don't bother you, you shouldn't be using Pinsir at all. Being able to learn Swords Dance and knock 300 turns off the whole process is one of the main points of using Pinsir. So, if you're fine with those 300 turns, you should be using Mega Gyarados and Dragon Dance. Gyarados has much better natural bulk (95HP, 109D, 130SpD), as well as Mold Breaker to get rid of things like Water Absorb so his +6 Waterfalls can wreak havoc. So your idea of a bulkier sweeper for this is fine, but making Pinsir that bulkier sweeper is a mistake.
ever have to face an opponent using non-ghost curse? i almost lost when i was only boosting attack while they were boosting defence (steelix, wailord), so for my backup i had this audino audino - audinite dazzling gleam wish calm mind protect probably could replace wish with another attacking move so that dark types aren't invulnerable, but id rather not forget it
I just wanna say his strategy works I just got through it. It does take practice and it does waste time. Instead of using Garchomp use Dragonite with Multiscale and make sure Dragonite has Earthquake, Protect and Dragon Dance. Other move was outrage but I ended up not using Outrage once.
Finally i got 50 battles without the hax to stop me before..My original team was: Greninja timid with protean and life orb, Garchomp with swords dance/outrage, and a Mega Kangaskhan with fake out/return/sucker punch/power up punch. I put the Greninja first with scarf, Chansey with eviolite and Garchomp with choice band/outrage.
No you don't. "Consumed" items are returned to the pokemon holding them after battle maison or wifi battles. If you lost a power herb, it was somewhere else.
100% positive. Maison and Wifi battles do not consume "one time use" items. After the battle is over all items are restored. If you lost such an item, it didn't happen at the Maison.
Cool, I managed to do it with a Superpower/Assault Vested Malamar lead, Sucker Punch/Swords Dance Life Orb Bisharp, and Overcoat Toxic/Roost Mandibuzz. Keeping all your pokemon the same base typing seems to make the Maison glitch a bit in choosing which pokemon to fight you so you can always expect the same strategies and pokemon to out manuever.
I got through without Durant and instead used a Garchomp @Focus Sash, Jolly 252 speed and attack, Milotic @Leftovers, Bold 252 HP 200 Def 56 spD and a Mega Gardevoir, Bold with 18 HP 252 Def 120 spA and 120 spD (more of a balanced build). This team took me to the 67th battle (with some luck) where I miscalculated the damage from Scald on a Machamp weakened from Close Combat and got killed by a Cross Poison Drapion.
I have not encountered any in singles. But the play would be to kill it with your poke on the field if possible, or switch to your back up and then put durant back out when you can and start over if you need to.
Not right now. I still need to trade a few people one and just haven't been able to breed any yet. Once I start breeding some I can let you know, but I don't know when that'll be.
Do you think I have any chance of winning this battle with Typhlosion, Florges and Mega Swampert (EV trained with good natures, but not IV bred)? Problem is my in-game Pokemon are the ones I want the Expert Battler Ribbon for XD
If you're only interested in the ribbon, do triples. It's the same ribbon, much easier, and you can use a competent starting three and then just carry one or two at a time. You can see my triples video here for tips: ruclips.net/video/9791Aj9GdGU/видео.html But to answer your question, no, I don't think that team would be capable of getting 50 wins. Especially if they're not IV bred. If you don't know, the Maison's pokemon do have the right IVs, EVs, and Natures. Additionally, the team you mentioned is slow, unless you're planning on burning a turn to set up Rain Dance for M Swampert. Generally, pokemon that are really only good as walls, like Florges, don't perform well in the Maison. I would strongly recommend Triples for anyone only interested in ribbons, berries, or advancing the story.
I have a Choice Scarf on Typhlosion and use Rain Dance with M-Swampert, and have reached 30 wins so far - Florges has saved my skin a few times with Calm Mind and Moonblast - but thank you I will try Triples, it would also mean I can get the ribbon for six Pokemon at once :)
Callum McPherson Well good job so far. It just seems to me like this team is easy to beat, but there is always the randomness of what the Maison decides to actually throw at you, and in what order. Personally, I'm not a fan of choice items because in the tougher battles, they tend to not perform as well. Let me know how it goes.
I have not encountered an explosion lead. But in that scenario (assuming Durant survives), I would immediately switch to my backup pokemon, leave it in until it defeats the opponent or faints. If it faints, then toss Durant back out and try entrainment again.
No. I would not use Mega Heracross. If he had a decent priority move, Dragon Dance, or even Agility, it would be fine. Or a 5th move slot. His speed is going to be a big issue. If you really want to use Mega Heracross, I'd recommend a Jolly nature with max EV investment in Speed and Attack and a moveset of Protect, Swords Dance, Substitute, and Pin Missle. It could work out just fine depending on what pokemon you happen to face, but I would really just use something else.
Smogon's tiers aren't relevant to the Battle Maison at all. Durant is only useful because it exploits the AI's tendency to not switch unless it is absolutely unable to touch the opponent, or is a baton passer. Trying to use Truant Durant against a human opponent would be a waste of time unless the opponent was a vegetable.
goods news is that I barely beat the 50 streak triple battle... but i lost at the 51 streak cause my ice cream pokemon missed it's hyperbeam and wishcash used fissure on me>->
My problem with the game is physical pokemon being used as special vice versa. Oh a vigoroth? let me switch to skarmory. Bam! dies on switch-in thunderbolt. A floatzel? let me switch into Crawdaunt. Bam! dies from focus blast
Xander Cortez Based on what you need. So a slowbro which is a good defensive tank could have max hp and max defense so it can take physical attacks. A bulky special attacker may have max hp and max sp.atk. Just invest in what you need. For begginners I would use super training.
Plasticzombies I was gonna use the pokemon that are in the vid I just got then from trades but need to know what to EV train in I usually use hordes to ev train
Durant will need max speed with a scarf. With it's hidden ability. Pinsir needs max attack and max speed is useful is needed if you want to get a sub off before them.
I copied this method and smashed her legendaries this is the most amazing strategy I've ever seen thanks so much you've got yourself a warm hearted sub great work
+Jonathan Symes did you EV train the pokemon?
That wally theme at the end is so epic, Hands down one of the best scores in oras
I know it's a bit late, but going with bulk up instead of swords dance would make pinsir bulkier (you can use PP Up for protect)
+Alexis Navas He doesn't need to be bulky. He needs to plow through opponents quickly. Multiscale Dragonite is there for bulk.
+Slowbro202 Yeah what I meant is a bit more defense is also good, considering it's just a bit more turns

Donny Card could you post your team and evs etc? it looks interesting, I wanna copy it.
i just used mega kang, ice beam scarfed greninja to counter that landorus and skill link choice band Cinccino

To me the emerald Fronteir was WAY more harder
What do you do when the opponent uses protect first, and substitute on turn 2?
If your opponent uses protect or fake out on your Durant, you should immediately switch to your back up pokemon and try to KO it.
how were you able to do so many successful protects they usually fail if used in succession??
+Jonathan Symes he alternated them with Swords Dance
how do you deal with opposing baton passers (Drifblim stockpile pass) and roar/whirlwind users? (honchcrow)
I have not encountered any in singles. But the play would be to kill it with your poke on the field if possible, or switch to your back up and then put durant back out when you can and start over if you need to.
That sounds like a good idea. Problem with them setting up with stockpile is they start getting too tanky to knock out -_-
THAT DAMN RANGE ON THUNDURUS. Ow.
So… there’s no way to get the ribbons with your party pokemon? I wanted to get this ribbon on my Aromatisse, Vivillon, and Furfrou
other than entertainment what are the moves on your durant? also what's its EV spread like?
I've got Crunch and.. Iron Head? I don't remember the fourth. Maybe X Scissor.
252 speed 252 hp
ok, thanks. Btw, do you have any extra TruANTs for trade?
Not right now. I still need to trade a few people one and just haven't been able to breed any yet. Once I start breeding some I can let you know, but I don't know when that'll be.
ok, no worries

What nature and and EV do you have on the pinser?
Never mind just checked description.
Even if you have a Shell Smash, Protect, Icicle Spear And Razor Shell/Rock Blast Cloyster instead of Mega Pinsir, you'll be good
have you encountered a lead that exploded on your durant and your durant survived?
I have not encountered an explosion lead. But in that scenario (assuming Durant survives), I would immediately switch to my backup pokemon, leave it in until it defeats the opponent or faints. If it faints, then toss Durant back out and try entrainment again.
What's Durant's EV breakdown?

How did you get a truant durant
thezpark123 You can find them in horde battles. It's kind of a pain to catch them, but doable.

@@mrleon1115 yea

What do you EV train each pokemon?
Wow I used the same set except that I used talonflame lol, and durant is most likely in the ru and nu tier in smogon
