I have always struggled with landing liver blows. I have a heavy bag at home so i was able to test it right away, and was suprised how much more powerful this shot landed. Im hyped for todays training now, as i want to cook some liver now.
Nice to see the twist of the front foot shown in this vid. I get tired when coaches in the gym tell you to always keep your lead foot rooted to the ground. Twisting the front foot also saves the lead knee from additional pressure and injury. Thank you RSoB!
I fractured my meniscus throwing a left hook turning my hips while keeping my lead foot rooted straight. I didn't need surgery but my knee isn't 100% anymore, truly a stupid way to injure yourself
....Some may duck from a one two combination... With that kind of an upper cut/hook/straight punch, the choice for adjusting this blow is greater for more accuracy, for the ducker to meet this fist with a head shot......Opening from protecting from a one two to the head, for the body shot is a good possibly.... Opening from a one two duck, is a possible head shot..... In each case, a tuned pugilist, will anticipate these offences, and use defensive, or offensive, or both, or even absorb the blow....
Hello coach 👋, I'm having a problem with the jab. Could you make a video on the most efficient way to jab in the long reach fighting stance. I don't fully understand the corkscrew movement of it as well.
As a tall boxer who loves distance ; this coach is the best to watch

How tall and what weight are you?

throwing the liver shot like that with a focus on rotation of the hip and pivot of the lead foot is really interesting. great video!

I was always taught to throw the livershot falling back and shoulder rotates in a 45 degrees plane, nice to learn a new way of throwing it!
Great explanation as always.

I think it's because it's the soviet method and it's not taught a lot outside of Eastern Europe.
