I grew up listening to my grandparents' horror stories about the Occupation during WW2. But it's an increasingly distant history, many things are falling into oblivion as witnesses pass away, so future generations may find it hard to believe what the German Nazis did in Poland.
Great video Ged! Its definitely changed a lot since I was last there. I stumbled upon the camp in 2018 after getting lost coming back from the quarry... I took the long way out hoping not to muddy my shoes lol. Some of the paths close to the grey house still had bits of the old tomb stones when I was there. Glad you shared this - I'll definitely be taking the tour when I visit, if I can ever get time off work. I had no idea they had made so many changes and definitely didnt know the museum was offering tours.
my great grandfather lived in rural poland on a farm and during the war he hid in his little basement for a few days because the germans decided to have a short break on his property. They luckily didn't find him but he didn't eat or drink for two days. they were shooting anyone they came across, not only jews.

Interesting Ged, will definitely make a point of visiting this site on my next visit. Thank you
Great video...been there on one of my numerous visits to Krakow... as an educator on this field it is so important to visit and remember this place.
They plan to open the grey house next year
That's really useful to know.... only been home a week and missing it already so could do this next June.
Why wait so long? Footy season starts in Aug😀
Dziękuję za ten ważny film. Tym bardziej, że w Płaszowie nigdy nie byłem.
Smutne.
