    Great review, Just got mine in pearl white and its absolutely fantastic, as you said " love spending time in it". I hope this Sorento is going to last as long as my old 2016 Sportage , great experience with it , had not a single issue in over 7 years with 98K on the dash. Cracking motor, Kia just nailed it.

    Great review. This car seems to get a very good press. So good, that I bought one and picking it up today. Needed more space and wanted more 'bang for my buck'. Been an Audi man and VW man for many years but time for a change. When I test drove was very impressed and although I love my Q5, I am sure the Sorento will be bettert in many ways (and hopefully not in the garage as much!!!)

    I really enjoyed your presentation, Jasper! Really well thought out video. One constructive criticism if I may - The video quality inside of the car while you were driving was laggy and frankly irritating. I am positive the issue is not on my side, but I am curious if other people experienced the same problems.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the review. I've had Sorentos since 2003 and I'm looking at the PHEV since my 2019 Sorento guaranty is ending this September.. Just for information, was your Sorento LX, EX or SX ?

      The UK trim models are set up quite differently to other markets, originally with numbers from 2-4 designating equipment specification. This was a special model, called the "Edition", which was essentially equivalent to the top-spec model as the standard list of equipment covered just about everything you'd need.

    Brilliant review jasper,very informative,and on point,and you really highlighted the versatility and comprehensive features,of what i think,alongvwith its sister car the hyundai sante fe are excellent,well made cars,full of features and tech,very safe,and excellent family cars,and very good value moneywise.i have a hyundai tucson limited,via the motobility scheme, and i have to say its excellent.but,given the availability on the scheme at the timeand the lack of finances for the advance payment needed at the time,if it were not for these reasons,i would have loved a sorrento,or the santa fe given the choice.think you have to look long and hard to find a car so well equipped,safe,well built,and such value,along with an excellent warranty too,to compare,or beat this tbf.anyway,once again,well done jasper,that was yet another brilliant review from the "buckle up" boys...more of the same please 😁👍...

      Hey Tina, this was a trim level called "Edition", with the HEV powertrain. The Edition bit may be a UK-specific name though!

    A built in ,pull up sun blind would be nice in the rear side window aswell for rear facing babys.

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  Год назад

      On the inside of the car, the very rear windows at the sides are really small, so not much sun would manage to come through, thankfully.

    His legs are purposeful, but not obnoxiously so. And at the rear . . . As you drop lower down...

    With legs is built as those, I'm sure Jasper has a higher towing capacity than the Sorrento

    hi - just found an essence brown version....but its not listed as a current colour - can I assume it was? Still not sure if I like it or not.....its brown!

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  7 месяцев назад

      Kia have changed a few things about the model range since it was launched, so it may well have been a colour available previously!

    what about the DCT transmission? Any problems yet? That why I am holding off.

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  Год назад

      The Auto is a conventional 6-speed.

    • @short5stick
      @short5stick Год назад

      So they send the junky DCT to the US? and you get a regular auto transmission?@@BuckleUpShow

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  Год назад +1

      The DCT is not available in the UK as we don't get the 2.5 L turbocharged 4-cylinder here. If the US market gets the 1.6 L turbocharged engine with the hybrid set up (either plug-in or conventional) these come with standard automatic transmissions.

    How much was the mpg during your test?

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  Год назад +1

      I averaged about 36mpg, though my driving style and roads I drive on are not conducive to good fuel economy. I was quite impressed that it managed to get 36 given the conditions. On a long motorway journey I think I got about 42 mpg.

    • @imarr17

      I just bought a '23MY sorento hev with just 3800 miles on the clock. I'm getting around 45mpg on local roads (ie not motorway/freeway driving). Very impressed so far (came from a LR Freelander HSE SD4)

    How did you find the drivers space with the splayed centre console

      Didn't particularly struggle in terms of passenger comfort, plus the additional storage is dead useful.

      Well the stats don't really back you up there as Kia consistently appears at the top end of the charts for reliability is surveys like J D Power. What issues have you had with yours?

    • @jeremysomeone
      @jeremysomeone 11 месяцев назад

      @@BuckleUpShow Stats are based on opinions taken at time of purchase. Transmission and electrics on mine. A friend with a 2020 had same issues. KN replaced a transmission with a rebuilt one. On a near new car. Unacceptable.
