I used to be a pyrotechnician and build fireworks and later I ran a few fireworks stands around the 4th of July. This guy talks about making coolers the way I would talk about fireworks. Just so excited to show you all this different facets of the process.
Im a Engel cooler guy, but im definitely gonna consider one of these Cordova coolers for my next purchase. Seen it made by real American people makes me want one more.
This was really neat to watch. Wish I had seen this before I got my Orca, I woulda definitely got one from these guys. They'll definitely be my next one.
Thank you for the videos, I ordered a 48 because of the handle material, and the reverse rubber latches; just a well-made product. It is sad I have to retire the '73 Coleman though, you get attached to the darn things.
Thanks for the video. Based on this we ordered an 88qt Basecamp last year. This summer we ordered a Starter Bundle (48qt cooler, basket and pack ice). They shipped the cooler and basket with an IOU note for the Pack Ice. That was 6 weeks ago. Emailed support twice this week with no response. What a bummer.
Glad you got a good cooler but bummer about the customer service. I haven't had that experience when I reached out to them. Have you heard back yet? You could give them a good old fashioned phone call. They're a small business with people in the office still.
@@theoutdoorempire right on, thanks for the reply. I’ve tried calling but unable to get someone on the phone. They are out of stock on the ice packs; they did reply to email after a couple of follow up requests. They have been responsive before; I think they just had a lot going on this month.
Almost a month back I decided to buy a good quality ice chest. So I drove to the closest Atwoods. Was scanning through the options and saw "Made in USA". What is Cordova? Looked it up, found your channel, then purchased a 48 qt version. Thanks for the tour.
I wonder if a thermal imaging camera would be useful to validate the foam spreading into all the nooks and crannies as opposed to using a flashlight. After all, it is an exothermic reaction right?
That could be an interesting way to go about it. I wonder if they would have to apply some sort of heat to see the differential, however. By this point in the process both the foam and outer cooler shell are essentially the same temperature as the ambient air.
Call me a sucker for good marketing, but this video sealed my decision, got the 128Qt Cordova. This would be my first good cooler, I was considering an Rtic 110Q but for an extra $40 I get a made in the USA. Buy once cry once.
I used to work in lifetime’s factory and they are light years ahead of you. Almost everything is automated and they crank out 1,000’s of coolers a day. Cool to see the difference though!
A more interesting test would be to crack open a coke from each cooler every day, and see which one is colder. That's the actual important number. The visible presence of ice is not a good indicator of if the cooler is doing what's actually important: cooling your foodstuffs. In theory things should favor the higher thermal mass, but the one draining could see evaporative cooling and/or sublimation play more of a factor. Though the air contacting the cans would not transfer or retain cold as well as the water. It's why adding water to your ice in a cooler is a great way to cool your beverages faster. Surface area.
The gasket pays off in sandy, windy conditions, like at the beach & dunes and if in the back of a truck on dirt roads. Plus they won't leak if they flip over.
Please make a mold for a shad tank combining some of the features from both the SUPER BAIT TANK 2 and an XTREME BAIT TANK. I don't think you could make them fast enough if you asked $1200.00 apiece for them. I'll place my order now, please?
Ya, they're not cheap. But I was surprised by the amount of manual labor involved and how long it actually takes to produce one cooler. Looks like an expensive business to operate.

I'm astounded by the amount of manual handling is involved to fabricate these. You can almost say they're hand crafted. Excellent!
Couldn't agree more!
You should visit more cooler factories it’s interesting to see the process and makes good content.
I thought it was fun too. Will see if anyone else lets me in.
i would buy one from these guys now that I have seen this
You totally should!

He takes pride in his job as it sounds like you do as well… he knows the process and what it takes to make a quality product
I love cordova coolers, everyone needs one.
Great coolers!

Fantastic company, congratulations. I am from Brazil. My job is rotomolding processing, quality.
Fantastic, thanks for watching!
Love to see products made in the USA
That was…..Cooler, than I thought.
And so are you.
This was really neat to watch. Wish I had seen this before I got my Orca, I woulda definitely got one from these guys.
They'll definitely be my next one.
It was fun to make. Neat little company.
The green color looks very nice.
Proud to be from Idaho and have my own Cordova cooler. Great video
Right on!
Very Interesting ... Thx for the great video
My pleasure! It was a fun tour.
Great video! Appreciate the information.
Thanks for watching!
Top notch video all around!
Glad you enjoyed it! I sure enjoyed making it.
I imagine those coolers will be part of this planet for the next 5,000 years….
Ya, you raise a good point.
Which is great because less of them will be made
They won't. They will grind down to micro plastic and end up in the sea. Like every other plastic, which is not burned.
@@sebastianmuller1210 ok Bernie Sanders lmao

Haha, so true. I still have my Grandpa's old Coleman we took fishing as a kid.

Very cool!! Thanks for the video! I've subbed to your channel 👍
You're very cool. Thanks for the sub!
Awesome video

Good stuff! Thanks for watching and rest assured, you got a great cooler from a cool USA company.

Haven’t looked at Cordova( I’m happy they’re US mage as well) I’ve been a big fan of canyon coolers
They're great too. I really like the aluminum handles and the lid lock on the Cordova.

Very interesting, I'd love to see that. I thought it was pretty cool how much work people are doing in this small business factory too.
And somehow they’re still garbage. Interesting.
Lifetime is trash

hopefully one day they can make the hard shell coolers lighter.
Im honestly surprised they're not more expensive than they are.
Turns out it's a ton of manual work to make one.
Buy USA Fam !!😊
Right on! 🇺🇸

Pretty reasonable price point too…
Indeed. I like these guys.
Still don’t understand why they cost 400 dollars please explain.
Ya, they're not cheap. But I was surprised by the amount of manual labor involved and how long it actually takes to produce one cooler. Looks like an expensive business to operate.
When asked to describe blow and injection molding the guy had no answer
Kind of explains the mad prices
Yeah, I was surprised at how much manual labor there was.
These guys should be wearing respirators around all that micro plastic dust.. cool behind the scenes video though!
That would be a very good idea.
Slow process. Now I know why they cost so much.
So many OSHA offences. I would be surprised if no one has lost a limb in this factory.
A bit of advice. If you're going to interview someone, let them talk. You kept cutting him off and talking over him. Not cool.
Thanks for the feedback! After growing up in a family of six kids where the loudest voice gets heard, it's definitely something I'm working on. 🤪
How is everyone wearing safety gear. And this dude walks in filming walking around not wearing any. SMH
Ya, they didn't ask me too and I didn't think to ask them. Good catch.
It's idaho
"coolers and the flag, neither touch the ground here" oh hell yeah Im buying one right now just cause that!!! 2:35
Love it.
