    Please no superglue…. Super glue does NOT flex. We use contact cement. NO SUPER GLUE that will ruin the boot and crest premature cracks.

    Oh man! This video is very detailed. Now I don't own Chisos boots but what I got from this video is the Shape Mods. I own a pair of PNW boots with a celastic toe box and my god, once I collapsed(smashed the toe box,lol) they looked and felt even better. I honestly never seen a video speak about modifying the "look" of the toe box so I want to give you guys some props. Thank you. And wish you guys continued success.

    For those watching r this video who want a lighter boot… I spilled gas on my boot day one so I wanted to try and save it. I used a Clorox wipe and it took the die off the lower half. So now it’s two tone! The visible part is light brown and the shaft is dark brown!

    Any recommendations for reducing the amount of arch support in the boot? I bought a pair of Chisos No. 6 and what felt great initially turned out to be pretty uncomfortable because it had too much arch support and felt like I was walking on my arches with very little pressure on my heel and the ball of my foot where it belongs. The boot fits perfect in terms of size with the Chisos insert so I don't want to just take it out because the boot will be way too big. Just trying to find a way to make the insole a wear a little flatter so I'm not walking on my arches.

    • @Chisos
      @Chisos  Год назад +1

      Hmmm Could try adding material underneath the heel area of the insole. Cloth, leather, or a thin heel insole may help. Shoot us an email howdy@chisos.com happy to discuss!

    My father and I bought some ostrich boots from tecovas for our 60th and 30th birthdays and for some reason i could never get the fit right; i went from 11 1/2 to 11 and the fit is still a little lose at the top of the foot. Do Chiso’s fit differently?

    • @Chisos
      @Chisos  7 месяцев назад +1

      Most brands have their own proprietary lasts. Chisos does. We built ours from scratch, not using a formula. So yes, the fit is a little unique. I'd recommend starting with an 11 in Chisos!

    Good tips but I don't understand why these don't have the option for a sole saver or rubber sole as standard? I get it, traditional cowboy boots and all but my first (and only) pair of 'motorcycle' boots had leather soles that wore out in about six months and had a local cobbler install a lug sole.

    • @Chisos
      @Chisos  Месяц назад

      That's just not our business! But you're right, there are times when a rubber sole is better than a leather one! Any good cobbler can help out with that though!

    Hey will,
    I’m looking for a pair of, I guess you could say ranching boots, or more of a boot I can wear for working on a ranch, I’m trying to start working for one soon and would like the right boots for the job, would your boots be meant for this or are these more of dress/everyday boots?
    Thank you,
    -Tyler

    • @Chisos
      @Chisos  Год назад

      Howdy, Tyler! You can work in Chisos, but with a few caveats.
      Every cowboy boot should be rotated to make it last longer, so take a day off between wears for it to air out. Additionally leather soles don't like water, so muddy conditions will reduce the longevity and require you to resole/repair them sooner. And finally goodyear welt isn't water proof, it's water resistant.
      Chisos are perfect every day wear boots and can be worked in as well, just know that you will accelerate the time frame for a resole. One recommendation is to add a rubber sole saver. And when it does come time for a resole, you might consider a full rubber sole.
      Cheers and hope this provides some guidance, Tyler!

      My apologies for the late response I guess my notifications weren’t on, but thank you for the response I will definitely be considering your boot and probably will buy a pair once y’all have some EE made! Again thank you this really helped as I’ve been doing I line research for a while now with tho other brands beside getting a custom made pair.
      Cheers,
      Tyler

    Is it possible for a cobbler to make my boots narrower in width?

    • @Chisos
      @Chisos  Год назад

      No, even a great cobbler can't work magic like that ;) Not without completely rebuilding the boots, but that would likely cost as much as a new pair.
      However, Chisos have a removable comfort insole. If you put an extra insole underneath ours, it will have a similar affect as to make the boot fit more narrow!

    Tips to getting a heel cup to fit tighter

    • @Chisos
      @Chisos  6 месяцев назад

      1) Cut a very thin insole to just be the heel portion. Place that in the bottom of the heel cup area. 2) Use your hands to press the tops of the leather heel counter inwards, thereby increasing the "cupping" of the heel. 3) Wear them! Eventually, a good leather heel counter will mold a bit to your foot.
