not as bad as you think. Yes, engine temperature will rise and it would be nice to cruise it at like 4k rpm top gear a min or two here and there to stabilize the engine temp.. BUT - these freakin motors are spun high and held there till they blow before testing was over. they can handle alot
Was this video made on one of this Kawasaki dealer meetings aranged by Focused Events? Just been there this year to test the 2014 Z1000 and Z1000SX. It was fun :)
by hanging off the bike more you keep it more upright and that way you can go faster. The faster you get it back up right the quicker you can get on the gas out of a corner. go check out Keith Codes Twist of the Wrist 2. Cheers
Everyone a critic. The motor's stroked so torque falls off near redline. (Still making more wheel torque at red line than the next higher gear...) And it isn't built to handle the rev's quite as well as other "class" sports bikes. It's difficult to estimate speed. KPH don't mean anything to me and seem inferior just because you have to use sooo many of them (USA). =) No reason to hate his shifting, imperfect but still skilled. The clutch is great but the gears are super close, makes it tricky.
@ People crying about him raping the red line: Deal with it. These things will run that high for hours without problems. They are made to run high RPMs and high speeds. Hell, my 500R, which is literally half the bike and probably half as well engineered, survived many hours of running at 8-9k RPM on the interstate highways. When I traded it in, it still started and ran like it was brand new.
great bike great roads and great vid
Some of the comments on this vid are hilarious. Looks like a fun bike!
Awesome bike, great riding!

what exhaust is this? It's looks nice!
Why because he keeps it in the power-band and does safe wheelies?
the dude in front should take riding lessons.
have you changed the exhaust pipes? or collectors?
すげぇ。俺もZ1000SX買う!
No it's not bad for it, that's what sport bike engines are designed to do..

Mighty. I also buy Z1000SX me!
