Hi, I know this is a few years old now, but hope you can answer a couple of questions. 1) You said you did not install the parking speaker. Does this mean the parking sensor is working with the car's speakers by default? Do you get directional warning sound from the left/right speaker, and does an image pop up like on the old display? 2) Does it display information from the trip computer? 3) Can you access car settings like automatic lights, locking etc There are hundreds of variations of the same product on AliExpress, all no-name brands with iffy descriptions, so it's hard to know for sure what you're getting. Even the link in your description shows a different picture to what you actually have.
Hi mate. The seller obviously changes units as new or revised versions come out. That link at the time I released the video was exactly the same unit I installed. The link is still current but the unit has changed given it is now Android 13 and mine was 11. Given they are generic units with no brand name, they obviously leave the link the same and update the product. So that unit being sold now will work in your car. If in doubt email the seller direct, he has always been very responsive and extremely helpful. I even sent pictures at one stage for another unit and he sent back pictures with steps added and circles for information etc. Yes you can access car settings on mine, but no it didnt display trip info, I still took that from the LCD display. I didnt install reverse camera or speaker, so when you reverse you get no sound and you simply get the marker display on the screen, but no video. I am old school and prefer to reverse park myself and trust my own judgement and lookout for pedestrians etc. Cheers hope that helps.

Sorry my friend I just have rear boot and mine still worked fine. Maybe just check cabling to make sure nothing was dislodged or disconnected...aside from that it shouldn't have interfered. Maybe a fuse blown?
Hey, thank you for this very helpful video! But where did you finally drill the hole for the gps cable connectors? :) Would be highly interesting to me.
We didn't drill holes in the end and just ran the cable out the front of the unit and under the glove box, then removed air bag cover side plate near the door and ran it up through there. Yes you can still see a little bit of cable out the front but for me wasn't an issue. If you want to drill, the best place would be where I indicated in the video, just open glove box and drill through left side into the compartment that contains the head unit. Maybe others have a better suggestion? Thanks for comment.

Hi, a good clear video. How have you found the radio now you have had it a few months any issues? How is the screen at night, does it dim if you turn the headlights on or adjust brightness with the setting in the instrument cluster. Can the screen be turned off? Any issues with the parking sensor deactivation button flashing?
I will always give an honest response as people may use the advice to buy the product. For me it's been great, no issues, runs smoothly, boots effectively, controls everything the way it should. Very happy with it. I would probably go for the version that has the extra RAM as it may boot a little quicker and also not sure if the rear camera were plugged in and it's processing video, how that would go. But loads navigation no issues, runs net and Web browsers and you tube etc no issue. I think a solid buy.

Do you know if you set your units to MPH will it default back to KMH, i read that is a bit of an issue. Suppose most places are using KMH now but here it is still handy to have the central instrument cluster screen show in MPH.
@@peugeotCitroen2CV Yes they seem to be the main manufacturers. The guy I used like I said in the video was great and responsive. I haven't tried changing default speed setting from KMH as I actually grew up and prefer using KMH myself. I will try though and see how it goes and let you know. In Europe given we all use KMH apart from the UK, it doesn't make sense to me to have a reference to MPH as it doesn't correlate to anything, but personal preference and obviously if you are in the UK you need it!

Anyone quoting measurements in inches or feet to me i just stare blankly trying to picture it. Not to mention trying to read the oddball fractions on a tape measure. However a weird quirk of here is despite most units being in metric now we still have speed in MPH and distance in miles. My head is calibrated that way unfortunately. Yes mate, mine still does even though I didn't hook up the new units rear camera etc. Also in general in case you are wondering, its still going perfect. I don't use sensors myself, prefer old school check mirrors and use your sense lol, but for some people they need all the help they can get 😁
Mate I had no problems with the JBL speakers not working in my car. Installed the unit and the relevant cables and worked perfectly. Only thing I can suggest is check fuse and maybe when you inserted the head unit back in, a cable detached from the rear of the unit or is loose? Some people need to get a new 'canbus' decoder to make their JBL work with the unit they buy, that's why its so important to get a good dealer who gives the right unit. Just from what I have read online try searching for 'Canbus Adapter Decoder Box for for Peugeot 407 2004-2011', you may need to get a new one. Or it could be an issue with the unit you bought? If the steering wheel controls and door controls are working on the unit, then it is probably this Canbus issue. Sorry my friend that is the extent of my knowledge. Stay safe.

Mate as far as I know mine was an RD4, its what I looked for when searching for the unit and when I checked compatibility with the seller specs. If in doubt though like most people, confirm with the seller whose link is in the comments. Send them a screen shot of your unit and ask if its compatabil with the unit in my video, link is also in the comment and you will get a speedy reply. Stay safe and good luck with it.
If you look in the video description I have a link in there direct to the seller I bought from as he was great and very responsive to questions etc. I'm not sure about others reviews, I can only go on my experience and for me it's been a great unit, easy enough to get in and works perfectly. It was the first thing I tried to find a work around for like on a PC or TV boot, but there is no direct boot, it is a lot quicker though after first boot when it has to install Nav settings etc. So it is faster after first time and you get used to it, 10 seconds max and its ready to go.

😂 Yeh was my worry at first, but has been a brilliant unit. Just one thing, unless you have a rear camera in the car, install the one that comes with the kit or every time you select reverse it goes into rear camera mode and indicates the lines etc and that cuts out your tunes etc until you go into drive again. Not a biggy for me, I never installed the camera as I hate them anyway, prefer old school eyeball and shoulder checking 😁

Hi my friend, I am using Google Translate to try understand your question and give a response. Are you saying you AC and heater work together at the same time? I have no issues with mine, the controls work exactly the same as with the old unit, just turn the dial up and down for plus or minus and other buttons for the zones. I can only suggest to make sure the unit you have is an exact match for model of car. I just bought mine, we put it in exactly as per instructions and watching some other YT videos and it worked fine. Sorry I can't help further.

Glad you fixed one problem but now have others! Again with me, we had zero problems, door sensors worked fine, audio level etc. I also mentioned I never installed rear camera and I don't care if I dont have one. I am old school lol, if you can't park without a sensor and camera you shouldn't be driving 😅..good luck👍
It's funny you mentiin those two. The trunk button yes still works fine, never stopped, but automatic headlights it did affect, they don't come on unless you turn on manually. I did notice that. I am actually going to look into that this weekend, just been busy and was not that big a deal for me, but I will see if I can fix that. Glad you reminded me!
Just a quick update mate. I got the auto headlights working again. The new console apparently disables the setting so once installed you go into the settings on the new console under car set up and there is a box you need to tap and tick which is about activating auto lights. I did that today then went down tonight in the dark, started engine and auto lights are working again.

Hi my friend, yes it does according to the feedback on the sellers site. It fits all models 407 from 2004 to 2010. Was easy to fit and you can get in grey or black, I wanted different colour so took black. If you look in the comments for this video I put the exact link to the same unit and the seller shop link as well. He was very quick to reply to any questions, so if you want 100% answer, go to his Ali Express shop and send a message, but yes it will fit...sanatate!
Yes it does my friend. I didn't install the reverse camera as I already had the mirror reverse lights, but when I put it in reverse now the visual parking sensor lines come up on the display and sounds. So if I installed camera would be complete. It was a good buy, still working great. Happy New Year.

Works fine for me, one of the first things I tested when going for a drive. Depending on the region you are purchasing for, the seller has the latest map library pre-installed, so as long as your GPS antenna is connected and working, it will plot your location no issues. Keeping offline maps current obviously becomes the only issue, but that's just going to the developers site etc.
I will have to find a solution as these units don't come with a manual. I just turn it on and off. Every time you turn the car on and off it restarts? I am figuring you mean reset to factory? I am sure there is a setting to restore defaults under Settings. But if you really need an answer use the links in the video comments and contact the supplier via email and ask them, they are very responsive.
My tyre sensors still appear on the original screen near steering wheel, I have never checked if they also appear on the Android screen, I will have a look. Sensors are one of the most annoying things on Peugeot, they are easy to come loose or fall off when you hit a bump, so I ignore most of the time and just do regular checks of air pressure myself.
Yes the aircon works fine and the controls all work. The AC display does not stay on the screen for long as a default setting but as soon as you touch controls it comes up very quickly and stays on as long as you are changing settings. No issues with that.
Mate the direct link to the model and seller are in the details of the video, I left very detailed description and the direct links. These are generic units and don't carry model numbers a lot of the time like this one. On the box simply says what you see in the video. Use the link and if you need to, message the seller, very good and receptive.

Well we are in Bucharest only an hours drive from Bulgarian border and its not Romanian lol and we are both not Russian, Ukrainian or Bulgarian. I think its a Romanian station on the 603 AM band that hosts international language broadcast programs but not sure. Try and get someone to clarify 100%😊👍

Yes. All speakers were picked up with the multi connection and I have the JBL system as well. Sounded better after installation.

Yes you can still access the mileage and the error codes still appear like normal.

I have no issues with mine, the controls work exactly the same as with the old unit, just turn the dial up and down for plus or minus and other buttons for the zones. I can only suggest to make sure the unit you have is an exact match for model of car. I just bought mine, we put it in exactly as per instructions and watching some other YT videos and it worked fine. Sorry I can't help further.

Glad you fixed one problem but now have others! Again with me, we had zero problems, door sensors worked fine, audio level etc. I also mentioned I never installed rear camera and I don't care if I dont have one. I am old school lol, if you can't park without a sensor and camera you shouldn't be driving 😅..good luck👍

It's funny you mentiin those two. The trunk button yes still works fine, never stopped, but automatic headlights it did affect, they don't come on unless you turn on manually. I did notice that. I am actually going to look into that this weekend, just been busy and was not that big a deal for me, but I will see if I can fix that. Glad you reminded me!
Just a quick update mate. I got the auto headlights working again. The new console apparently disables the setting so once installed you go into the settings on the new console under car set up and there is a box you need to tap and tick which is about activating auto lights. I did that today then went down tonight in the dark, started engine and auto lights are working again.

Yes you can mate. I tried that, in fact I think it came set using mpg and I changed it to kms. Cheers

Hi my friend, yes it does according to the feedback on the sellers site. It fits all models 407 from 2004 to 2010. Was easy to fit and you can get in grey or black, I wanted different colour so took black. If you look in the comments for this video I put the exact link to the same unit and the seller shop link as well. He was very quick to reply to any questions, so if you want 100% answer, go to his Ali Express shop and send a message, but yes it will fit...sanatate!

Does the display/radio speakers support the parking sensors visualisation/sounds?
Yes it does my friend. I didn't install the reverse camera as I already had the mirror reverse lights, but when I put it in reverse now the visual parking sensor lines come up on the display and sounds. So if I installed camera would be complete. It was a good buy, still working great. Happy New Year.

How it work with offline navigation ?
Works fine for me, one of the first things I tested when going for a drive. Depending on the region you are purchasing for, the seller has the latest map library pre-installed, so as long as your GPS antenna is connected and working, it will plot your location no issues. Keeping offline maps current obviously becomes the only issue, but that's just going to the developers site etc.
How to restart this multimedia?
I will have to find a solution as these units don't come with a manual. I just turn it on and off. Every time you turn the car on and off it restarts? I am figuring you mean reset to factory? I am sure there is a setting to restore defaults under Settings. But if you really need an answer use the links in the video comments and contact the supplier via email and ask them, they are very responsive.

My tyre sensors still appear on the original screen near steering wheel, I have never checked if they also appear on the Android screen, I will have a look. Sensors are one of the most annoying things on Peugeot, they are easy to come loose or fall off when you hit a bump, so I ignore most of the time and just do regular checks of air pressure myself.

Does the air con work
Yes the aircon works fine and the controls all work. The AC display does not stay on the screen for long as a default setting but as soon as you touch controls it comes up very quickly and stays on as long as you are changing settings. No issues with that.

Mate the direct link to the model and seller are in the details of the video, I left very detailed description and the direct links. These are generic units and don't carry model numbers a lot of the time like this one. On the box simply says what you see in the video. Use the link and if you need to, message the seller, very good and receptive.
@@BitsofEurope yeah found it when I logged on to my computer. What I can't find is the same dash model as my 407. Every one of the videos on RUclips have the same control panel and none matches mine. I have sat nav in the screen already.

I'm surprised he couldn't help because I did the same initially he said send me a picture which I did and he said the unit I had was fine for my model. I also recently bought another unit off same guy for a 2003 jeep Cherokee, couldn't find one anywhere got back in touch and an hour later he sent me a link to one, purchased it and worked perfect. Surprised he couldn't help.

Well we are in Bucharest only an hours drive from Bulgarian border and its not Romanian lol and we are both not Russian, Ukrainian or Bulgarian. I think its a Romanian station on the 603 AM band that hosts international language broadcast programs but not sure. Try and get someone to clarify 100%😊👍
