The French sound mixer presumably doesn't know who the main vocalist is supposed to be, which is great! We get to hear Steve's excellent harmony vocal.
@@neilrushworth5958 it worked better for Steve in the end to be a frontman/soloist and be an artist in his own right. Shagrat and Steve Took's Horns are both brilliant. The Missing Link CD is a bit wonkier but still has some great moments. The two Took tracks on Think Pink are the ONLY good bits on there (apart from Paul Rudolphs guitar work on Rock N Roll The Joint which was probably really his creation anyway.)
Took was a brilliant accomplice as Marc would ever have...a perfect combination of the two. I totally love the first five albums that took you on a journey, making mind and body ache with sorrow and longing for the places you went within your mind. Come the sun, see it run across the sky, cosmic eye for you and no one else.✌👀👌
Denethor: Can you sing, Master Hobbit? Pippin: Well… yes. At least, well enough for my own people. But we have no songs for great halls and… evil times. Denethor: And why should your songs be unfit for my hall? Come, sing me a song. (pause) Pippin: (sings) Salamanda Palaganda Salamanda Palaganda Salamanda Palaganda
August 1967 to September 1969. Marc Bolan and Steve Peregrin Took. Spelling taken from Lord of the Rings, so it is as Tolkien spent it without the final 'e'.
yep....vu le niveau de la télé française d'aujourd'hui qui ne compte plus un seul programme dédié à la musique et accueillant des artistes de la pointure de TRex, et qui plus est en live!!! les prochaines archives Ina ne devraient pas prendre trop de place....
Steve Took was brilliant at harmonies with Bolan.
Marc should have known what they had as a duo and let Steve contribute some of his own songs , maybe they would have gone a lot further ❤

Nothing better than early Trex.
Amen to that brother
The Dynamic Duo of Bolan and Took!!!
Mr Porter on excellent form there. Would that there were more of the duo from this era- a complete ‘Unicorn’ era gig would be priceless!
Early Tyrannosaurus rex was something truly special
Big Bolan fan. After hearing Beard Of Stars I think I prefer his 60s stuff now
🦄Yeah..it's great......the first two T.Rex albums are amazing too.......after '72 he sadly began to believe his own hype......sad story.......✨🎭
This is just so breathtaking and live too so much better than the original recording

This is still "Tyrannosaurus Rex" in my little red book......🐲
Brilliant bt Marc Bolan ! Wow! Beautiful music, with good taste. Start lovin’ it ! 😊 :) - jon fisher
This is definitly the best way to wear glasses
To-whit to-whoo!
I love Marc! Wish I discovered his music sooner, although I do prefer Tyrannosaurus Rex over T Rex. Marc's mic needed to be louder!
I like the dancing girls, probably limbering up for another act, and then peering in, probably thinking "this is amazing".
My youth takes place...
Ahhhhhhhhhhh…. The spirit of Marc B + Co.!!
FRrrresh today NOW!!
LOVE Took's Vocals. This is a real example of how good they were before Marc and Tony V mixed them down in the released versions of the songs.
Ehhh, idk, I feel the released versions captured a lot of Took's vocals.
I love this song!
Really good live performance...but I wish they would've had Marc's mic mixed a little louder!

I see what you did there. Nice one! I will recall that when I rewatch the film I am sure.
Fool of a Took
Even their fans are cool reasonable people if you scroll down comments. A lovely ❤lot.
This is *Tyrannosaurus Rex* NOT T Rex
Absurdly succesful duo, top 10 UK band 1969 -- 70.

Estilo único e inconfundible!
Always loved this song.Great to hear and see a live performance.Theres a third vocalist doing some backing. It all seems to work pretty well
three bongo set up original
THANK YOU
Why didn’t they notice that the microphone was 10 times louder for Steve Took than for Marc? This is so frustrating!
That looks like a very toasted Kim Fowley as Napoleon at the beginning.

Steve Peregrin Took - Peregrin is taken from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Peregrine is a bird of prey, very different.
Marc and Steve were more dynamic than Batman and Robin. Ok,that's a stupid comparison. #Nerd
Is this from a movie? If so does anyone know which film? Thanks.
French TV :)
Who mixed up the microphones on this haha?
IcicleIcicle
Shocking sound. Cannot hear Marc at all.
better than nothing, only copy on youtube I can find
Just noticed that this is the same French studio as where this Sandie Shaw "You've not changed" was sung: ruclips.net/video/HNf5lKUpSsM/видео.html
