@@MS-qm3ml I agree as a drummer too. I think Mike Portnoy is second best to Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan. Mike doesn't just do the song justice here he adds his own melodicness to it all!. I wish Mike Portnoy stayed with the band. Hopefully he changes his mind and comes back one day it's been 11 years though! When I saw A7X I saw a stand in guy. My dream was to see Jimmy play but never achieved it. I saw A7X at Download Uk 2011.awesome still were the other guys!

Dude, SERIOUSLY!!! This is the best I’ve heard Portnoy play this by far and I’ve been all over RUclips. The drums also sound soooooooo good here !!!! Ahh I’m in love with this, I bet I’ll end up learning this part 🙊

The age difference is tough and those guys look up to him so much, I bet it would be like a dad joining them 😂 but man, another album with Portnoy writing would have been probably kind of ridiculous. Maybe Portnoy has too big of an ego, like maybe they were worried he’d take over the band. They probably wanted someone more submissive to kinda work intimately with 🤷♂️idfk
