Mike, really interested in how you are focussing for the bif? Are you placing stick and removing for the pre focus, or are you panning? if the stick method as in your small bif video, what aperture do you use to give optimum dof...? Cheers and keep the videos coming! Very informative...

Sometimes I may place a stick in position to focus on, but in the case of the successful jay in flight picture in this video I focused on the tray the bird was about to land on. Not panned, fixed focus and leave the camera running as the bird flies through.
It was taken at F8, but that will vary on how much light is available and how close the background is.
The Jays stopped coming to that feeder this winter and two others close by so I have not le to continue.

New to your channel Mike, but I'm now hooked! Great videos, very clean and easy on the eye! and easy to learn (I hate it when they put loud music on videos and you cannot hear what they're saying) Thank you for all the information, it will help a lot as I'm new to wildlife photography! Keep uploading these great videos!

Super video. I love seeing behind the scenes. I would be thrilled to get one picture of the kind you comment on as "obviously set up by the photographer." Wonderful images, many of birds we don't see in the Northeastern Divided States. Thanks so much for sharing.
