if she's still a student living with parents then I guess that maybe she has a part-time job and if not student maybe she still lives with her parents. that way it's way easier to save money (in my case at least, can't be the same for everyone)
a part time job as a student maybe or just working and living with parents? it's easier to save if you live with parents (in my case, might not be the same thing for everyone) + student jobs earn more money then adults earn for the same work and same amount of hours. (in Belgium at least)

She probably saved. I work full time and live with my parents and could pay for those within two months if I saved most of my paycheck. So assuming she is a student and has a part-time job that pays at least minimum, she could afford them within a couple of months.
