The reason I do is because, I get why he wants to kill Tanjiro, Muzan was terrified of Yoriichi, and Tanjiro looks kinda like Yoriichi, not to mention uses the same breathing technique, and the same earrings, so in theory, Muzan has a Justifiable Reason he wants to Kill Tanjiro
But he apparently made Tanjiro into a successful demon slayer, if Muzan didn’t kill his family then it would’ve took later for Tanjiro to become a demon slayer. Tanjiro is oblivious and cares for his family more, which means he’s more likely to keep selling coal and help take care of his siblings then have an actual thought of becoming a demon slayer. Remember, Tanjiro became a demon slayer since his family died from a demon.

I think I might know why miss Tamayo cried when she hugged nezuko but I'm not sure If I'm correct but in the manga It says that hold on MANGA SPOILERS ok so in the manga she right when muzan was trying to kill miss Tamayo she said to muzan she had kids but she turned into a demon so she just wanted to watch her kids grow up but she couldn't so nezuko possibly made miss Tamayo think of her children witch are dead because shes more than older 200 years so yeah but if I'm wrong than ok.
Nezuko knew which characters went through a lot and didn't deserve the hand that fate dealt them: *SPOILERS: TURN BACK NOW* - Akaza wanting to be strong just to protect those important to him (his father and Koyuki), only to be blinded by strength and losing sight of his original goal. - Daki and her brother went through a harsh life, even ending up with Daki being burned alive and her and her brother Gyutaro having to become demons just to ensure Daki lives. - Kokushibo only wanted to be stronger than his brother. Being forced to live as a mere shadow of your more talented sibling can eat away at your mind until you become consumed by it. He only wanted to be the strongest swordsman, and not being able to accomplish that despite all of his efforts is soul-crushing.
