i heard the director (?) of the series wanted to portray a somewhat realistic approach for the show so they encouraged the actors to act as realistically as they can while keeping some bits of that anime-ish sound that we usually hear... that's why kurumi voice does not have that typical loli sound, she actually sounds like a proper adult, since that was they're aiming for. her va told this in one of their radio episodes somewhere
