I like to think the director used the two brothers to express the over all dynamic of the two with expressive exaggeration of the story in real life. Erik being the victim, leaving him timid and introverted. Lyle being the protector, making him outspoken and extroverted.
@masondeyoung8339 You've got it spot on!!!! Ryan Murphy is an artist, he created a dramatisation from two real people. That's what filmmaking is all about! I think this series was amazing, it's not meant to be a documentary!!!
@ it’s a point to recognize these two characters are what comes from sexual and emotional abuse from there environment. Which I believe people over see from Ryan Murphy point. They both were subjected to the same abuse. Erik turned out one way and Lyle the other.
@masondeyoung8339 Yes, that's very clear. Both abused and it affected them in different ways. Lyle was abused for two years whereas it appears Erik got the brunt of it (even up to 6 months) before the murders. Erik confessed all to the Dr whereas it seems Lyle found a way to cope with it?
I thought the scene where the father took them out to apologize to the people they rob was funny too.. “Hi , I broke in your house” 😂 And when he called the therapist told him how to treat them and hung up the phone 😂… also when you think the boys are in a session alone and the camera pans out to both parents being there basically just not giving a damn about the brothers concerns at all. 😂 Ryan Murphy is diabolical for making such funny scenes in such a dramatic serious story.
@@pizzalove926Nicholas said he believes them. He did research too and neither actor met the brothers. Cooper said he met Erik after the series was done and only recently visited the real Erik with Kim K.

@@Emo476 it is during the 2nd trial when the prosecutor is trying to say that was how the throat injury was caused. Cause yea they know more than a doctor….
This is missing a lot of the funny parts… the scenes with the dad in it are the best. Main things missing though are the 2 MOST funniest moments from the show. 1. The part where the dad is at the deans office and he tells him he will piss in his pants if he doesn’t cooperate. 2. When they are in therapy and the dad tells the therapist 3 times really quickly to shut the **** up. Those are the 2 funniest scenes in the show hands down.
The public should not br dragged through this trauma...why? Those young men should not have had a filmed trial??? What is wrong with everyone?? It is news, and we grieve for them. But don't our own lives have enough issues...let's watch 2nd hand trauma...to cheer up??? No way
I love these boys so much ❤️😍🥰they’re so brilliant playing Lyle and Eric Menendez! Nick is so funny, wonder if he’s really like this in real life! Besides he’s kinda Hot 🥰🔥
This is a show about real people's trauma, real people who have said their representation in this show is inaccurate and harmful. This isn't a joke. Please don't.
Relax! 50% seemed completely fictional as I’m sure nothing about their situation was comedic but scumbag Ryan Murphy does this in his films. I think he’s making a killing, no pun intended, off of everyone’s misery but here we are, still watching!
This is basically Nicholas Chavez's audition tape to play Patrick Bateman
Real.
This NEEDS to happen.
The new actor for the remastered movie American Psycho has already been chosen. It's Austin Butler.
If anybody hasn't guessed it yet 'fuck' and 'fucking' are Lyle's favourite words.
Obviously lol

why is lyle such a vibe tho 😭 there is no way he was actually like this
I don't think he was, it's a caricature of certain aspects of him, I think.
Regardless, Nicholas brought this character to life BRILLIANTLY!

the real life lyle was not aggressive at all. This show is extremely inaccurate
Lol he was the man in the show. Minus the weirdo stuff with his brother 😂😂 i don't believe those parts btw
