The writers are writing Gabby's character as wishy-washy giving terrible date history and a common denominator in bad relationships. It's an axe job on romantic life in a series for drama. Jake did not love her in my opinion and she fell for Bode and it was right for her to end with Jake but when Kyle her ex-diving partner came to town to start a relationship she did not do it because of her feelings for Bode. Bode is Guy she wanted but he dumped her and did not call, read her letters and even wanted her to visit. but six months later considering how she loved Bode and probably still loves him, it was a bad idea by the writers to let her get engaged in my opinion and fans are saying it. Bode is the love of her life, I believe she dropped any man for him.

So between season 1 and now 2, especially with Bode saving his Mom, fellow firefighters, and local town's people in the fire truck, as Bode saved them all by breaking a heavy water pipe, so that was about 15 people, give or take. Then Bode helped the little girl in the most recent episode, saved 3 other people, and at least 20 people in season 1. So what is the save count to set him free, because I think Bode had saved at least 50 people between both seasons so far. Also, when Bode saved a teenage male from a car, teetering on a bridge, which Bode fell from, in the process of saving the teenager.
