    Östersund has my respect. Doing something unbelievable is the greatest thing in football to me. Going from 4th division to the 1st division is incredible and THEN to get into Europa and slay teams like Hertha Berlin and Galatasaray. They deserve respect.

    • @davidnygard412

    • @rodaraya88

    • @samuellarsson101
      @samuellarsson101 6 лет назад +2

      Just to clarify everyone then Sweden respectively England top 5 tiers
      Allsvenskan
      Superettan
      Division 1 Northern & Southern
      Division 2 (regional)
      Division 3 (regional
      And so one
      England
      PL
      Championship
      League One
      League Two
      Vanarama National League or just National League
      And then the sixth tier VNL/Conference Northern and south.

    Well not really. The club was first of all founded in 1996, and after 8 years a swedish millionaire invested in the club. Although it's quite impressive to see what Graham Potter has done with the club, but they shouldnt be recognised as the ones to beat modern football.

    •  6 лет назад +1

      Axel Åkerblom a Swedish millionaire?? You know the amount Kindberg invested? Campare that number to other clubs.

      Thank you for saying this. The club is also one of the very few in Sweden to not follow the 50+1 rule. Not to mention a large portion of the fans consist of people who didn’t know this club existed until they reached superettan/allsvenskan. Östersunds fk is not fighting modern football, they are in every sense of the word advocating it.

    I knew Ostersunds FK was a Cinderella story, but i didn't realise the extent of that story until i watched this. Great video and great club. We all love what Potter is doing at Swansea (despite our American owners very evidently NOT providing him the support and backing, or illustrating they have any understanding of financial prudence or understanding of the game i.e. trying to quick cash in on Daniel James to Leeds). Anyway back to the OSK, inspiring video, hope the success continues and now i seen this i've been made to understand what we have brought into our club with Potter.

    Fun story: Their chairman Daniel Kindberg is now standing accused of economic crimes which includes accounting offenses and fraud. All this is linked to the club. The club has (very likely) had access to money they should not. They pretty much cheated their way into the Europa League, if the allegations are true (which they seem to be). His trial started the 2 november this year and as of now we are waiting for the verdict. If he is convicted the club was believed to face forced relegations, however as of now that part is a bit unsure. Even if they are not relegated by force they ar basically a dead club walking. ALL of their price money from europe is gone along with the money from the sales of Ken Sema (watford) and Saman Ghoddos (Amiens). Almost 13 million Euros. Some even believe the club might face bankruptcy in the near future. Players are leaving the club as fast as they can, and their best players basically for free because their contracts are ending this winter or next summer. Fair fight against modern football I guess.

    • @ericbjurkelund1747
      @ericbjurkelund1747 5 лет назад +1

      [Edit. His trial started the 5th of September this year, not in November.] Earlier today (the 5th of November) Daniel Kindberg was sentenced to 3 years in prison by the court. However he is expected to appeal.

      They didn't play like their usual selves. I think they went too defensive, but I also think it says something about the respect they have for a team like Arsenal. Hopefully they can pull themselves together for the rematch, because I know they have the ability to make the game much more interesting, no matter if they win or lose.

    • @Thaleya1

      They did good and showed what they are capable of. Since it was the first time the teams faced off, I think Östersund might've overestimated Arsenal a bit in the first leg, and Arsenal in turn underestimated Östersund at the Emirates. Turned out the match up so many people laughed at, became more interesting then they first thought :)

    So yeah, sorry to bust the myth but Östersund is not the good-guy club it is portrayed to be in this video.
    1. It is owned by a millionire. Daniel Kindberg owns the biggest realestates company in the region, and he used his private money several occaisons to rescue the clubs economy.
    2. Daniel Kindberg sacked the old board and employed his buisness allies. In return Kindberg got important positions in their companies.
    3. He has risen the rent for many people through his realestates company, so he can invest more money in the club.
    4. They were willing to take money (50 million euros) from Libiya in 2014. It was when Libya was in the height of its civil war with ISIS, and nobody could be sure that the money didnt have any connections with ISIS.
    5. Daniel Kindberg (the head chairman) uses aweful tactics to deal with investigating journalists. Local journalist have tried to investigate the connections between his private buisness and Östersunds FK in more detail. As a result the journalist has been banned from all press-conferences and media gatherings.
    6. The swedish state agancy for buisness competition has decided that there is clear reason to investigate Östersunds FK, but because of poor budget they cannot do this investigation yet.
    Östersunds FK is not on a mission to fight modern football, it IS modern football. Had it not been for the 51%-rule Östersunds FK would be just as any other premier league team.

    • @theMad_Artist
      @theMad_Artist 6 лет назад +1

      Because he's not just buying success. Östersunds is actually craftful in the way it has risen through the ranks. I hate teams like Man City, PSG, Chelsea, Real Madrid, etc. that are often owned by corrupt businessmen, sack their perfectly good managers every 2 years, don't properly invest in their academy, buy a shitload of big-name players, pay those players huge sums of money that could be so much better used on something that's actually necessary, and somehow avoid FFP violations when they should absolutely be punished. Then they win titles and are hailed for it. It's ridiculous.
      Östersunds has actually built itself up strategically, as seen in this video. Maybe the owner is rich, but he is not corrupt. He doesn't just throw around shitloads of money like Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Roman Abramovich, or the fucking Qatari State do on big-name players. He doesn't just sack the manager when anything is remotely wrong. He cares about the spirit and identity of the club, and he encourages teamwork and psychological strength. That's actually inspiring. That's something that I would actually want to stand for. He is actually making the fans happy in an organic, beautiful way. This is what sports should be all about - not bullshit big-money spending, or shirt sales, or egotistical players who think they deserve to be paid 500k a week and only care about the glamor.

    • @pike8290
      @pike8290 6 лет назад

      Well actually the "owner" is corrupt and they got 500 million kronor from the Libyan state in 2014 for some business deal .Östersund really doesn't care about the academy, they don't have a single local player.
      In every way it's Östersund that represent modern money-driven football, every other swedish club is owned by the supporters while Östersund it's just one man.

    They're actually part of modern football. That's their rep here in Sweden. Kindberg, the guy in the video, is more or less corrupt and has built the team's success partially on transferring public finance to the club. Their stadium has a sponsor name and they work a LOT on branding the club to people who aren't really that crazy about football. Granted, their success on pitch isn't your classic dirty story a la Red Bull teams and so on, but they're in no way some kind of knight taking on modern football.

    I think you should look in to the club more carefully before making a video about it. The truth is infact that they are working against the swedish 51% rule that makes the fans to the owners of the club. They have an invester that also is running the club singel handed by installing 4 of his board members from his company into the club and his wife. It's a disgrace to the swedish football and the 51% rule.

    Cred to graham and the players! But to start with they shouldn't have had the means to buy those players in the first place, since the club chairman Kindberg financed the team through statemoney they could. Now they got "anonoumus" sponsor giving them 1-1,5m€ out of nowhere. I hope all support from around Allsvenskan don't show up on their stage and thereby don't fund them. A fucking disgrace is what this club is...

    The Chairman, Kindberg. Ownes all things around the club and almost the whole city. He pumps in money in all different ways. Every other supporter from Sweden fkn hates this “New Club”

      No what helped them was their cheating with finances and criminal endeavours. They're going down now, former chairman in prison and club is broke.

    Östersund is modern football. A capitalist owner. They almost dont have youth teams. No fans, no tradition.

      Inga ungdomslag? Våran akademi har i år 6st träningsgrupper där flera av grupperna spelar i två serier. Akademin växer för varje år och självklart är vi inte en stor akademi än, vi är ju yngre än klubben!

      @Lycky7even 6 лет назад +2

      JohannaHerman Helt orelevant, ni har totalt struntat i 51%-regeln, knappt någon i truppen är från ungdomsakademin, och ni bildades 1996. Monopol FK så att det skriker om det.

      JohannaHerman akademi 🤣 en urusel sådan. Jag pratar om ungdomsverksamhet. Ni vet ju inget om hur en förening funkar. Ni är 100 % plast och PK-jippo.
