  • In the fifth episode of the Building Bridges podcast, the hosts talk to Dr. Siham Elkassem, a lecturer at King's School of Social Work, about how she intentionally decolonized her curriculum in the recent course she designed. Dr. Elkassem also discusses the importance of choosing a diverse range of authors and the changes she has seen at King's, first as a student and now as a professor.
The Building Bridges Podcast is a collaboration between the EDID offices at Brescia and King's University Colleges. It is a direct result of the report and recommendations from the Anti-Racism Working Group. The report recommended creating channels to discuss racism and intersectionality so that it is normalized as a topic of discussion and not treated as taboo. The podcast is written, recorded, and edited by King's and Brescia students and supervised by King's and Brescia staff.
