    The neighbor tree situation. I'd talk to the guys who actually did the harm. If they failed to fix it. I'd then ask the neighbor to lean on them. If that failed, I'd take care of the situation myself (move the offending material back over on the neighbor). The problem was not the neighbor's fault. Who knows, he might even help. Then, I would do a full court press and I would let everyone I know what the timber people did. I would make it my case in life to make sure they did no more work in or near your area. They are not good business people or good stewards of the land. They need to be held accountable. I would also keep track of the time and material I spent fixing their problem and I'd invoice them for it. Great video Josh! Lee

    Josh as a fellow veteran, fellow nurse, and fellow (new) RUclipsr - I’ve learned a lot watching your channel and the contact that you provide. Josh, I’m also a fellow veteran and I was a EMT with fire department for 20 years, I too bought a farm after I retired from the fire department here in eastern Oklahoma. I did take your advice and bought a T754 TYM. But my TYM would not stay cool in the cab so I had to get rid of it and I bought me a John Deere.

    • @StoneyRidgeFarmer
      @StoneyRidgeFarmer  Год назад +4

      Hmm.....the 754 has just about the same size cab as my 574 I think....you couldn't just have the AC system warrantied v/s buying a deere? Hate that for ya, but seems that would be a warranty issue that could be taken care of for much cheaper than a new deere my brother....my AC blows so cold...it will run you out of the tractor lol

    • @timpotter8715
      @timpotter8715 Год назад

      @@StoneyRidgeFarmer I agree but after taking it back to the dealer they told me it was working fine, lol, they also said that TYM would not warranty, because I probably over heated it, but I didn’t. The timber crew will likely try and get away with what they can. Clean up in the heat is hard work, and I'm sure they were feeling it all the way around. Communication is key. If you get attitude and push back after nicely informing them of your issues, I'd then try a different approach.

    Knock on the neighbors door and ask for a bit if his time to explain the situation. He may not even be aware of the trespass. You will likely find that he will be embarrassed that it occurred and will clean it up quickly. Good conversations makes good neighbor relations.

    Hi Josh, do you spread lime on your fields to raise the ph? Our ph through soil test is 5.7 and they recommend 2 to 3 tons per acre. We have sheep rotating so not adding fertilizer!

    Josh can you install field tile to help drain that off. Just wondering I’ve seen wet fields with old clay tile. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks from Sc

    If it were me, I would just push that top back onto the neighbors ground. If the loggers are still working along the property line I would pay them a visit and suggest they keep the debris on their side of the line. No cense in creating a mountain from a mole hill. I`m sure trees fall across that line due to natural causes on occasion, maybe even the other way if you have any woods.

    I have a question about the land you were mowing. After it rejuvenates, will you be tilling it up and reseeding, or will you just add new good grass seed on top?

    • @StoneyRidgeFarmer
      @StoneyRidgeFarmer  Год назад +1

      NO MORE TILL!!!!! Tillage opens the land up to more weeds.....we'll get the soil right, use the litter that's been mowed down on the field for the last few years as bedding and no till drill....or overseed and bring the cattle in to mash the seed into the ground. Ya need to watch a few of my winter vids to understand. We don't seed much anymore, we roll out hay and hay is full of grass seed. Tillage destroys soil structure and is not the way to establish a pasture unless you want weeds...no till drilling or broadcast overseeding and allowing the cattle to trample the seed into the soil is best practice

    Your neighbor may not be aware of the problem and for best rapport I would handle this that way when talking to him/or her .
