I hope everyone is having a good morning, I just saw your theatre review of Black Adam and was hoping you could expand more on it without spoiling the movie. Personally, I loved it including the 3rd act as I found the movie to be like a great Summer Action Blockbuster movie but in the fall season.

The action & Justice Society saved this movie.
It is the best 6/10 film I’ve ever seen. It was an advert for a better film with Superman, it was to get cool visuals for social media.
Would I recommend Black Adam? Yes why not.

For me, this film was great. There were things they did that many films don't that I really enjoyed. It's not a spoiler but I really LOVE his style of flying, and I also really love that he uses doors the way I always wondered why more superheroes don't use them that way lol. A lot of his behavior was heavily based on how would a superhero actually behave and I really enjoyed that aspect of it. This is also an extremely brutal and violent film. at least 200 people are directly murdered by Black Adam, and I'm frankly shocked they didn't catch an R rating...I see how they got away with it, but man it is like 2 seconds off of an R rating. Great fun and would watch in theaters again.

The kid was awful. If they felt a need for a kid to feel a connection, they have one. Billy Batson! And it would resonate because Billy would be close to his son’s age. It’s another kid picked by the Wizard.
I don't get the bad reviews 🤷🏾♂️. Yes it was choppy, but overall it was a fine movie. It wasn't phenomenal, but it was entertaining, had some good humor and really good action

There's absolutely nothing wrong with being critical. In fact I'm glad people are willing to give their honest opinions instead of pretending to love something they don't.
I just got back from seeing Black Adam; it was a good movie. I enjoyed the film; it was a popcorn flick. I hope it does well
I liked that it was an actual superhero movie like you can have fun with no it's not deep diving and the effects weren't great but we all needed a movie where you see heroes hitting things and being superheroes period.
If that your way to to say this what superhero movie need to be then i am going to think you didn't love the dark kinght

Saw it yesterday night and it was fantastic! Yes the story and dialog aren't academy award winning but it was a great slam em down "hero" movie and I'm genuinely excited for what's next!

Everyone in our theater seemed to love it and others I've talked to said they liked it too. I really enjoyed it myself. I honestly didn't think the dialogue was that bad either and I can usually detect, "cringy", things in movies from a mile away. It wasn't Oscar worthy or anything. And, could it have taken more time with the story? Yeah. But, did it really suck in any area? Not in my opinion. I think it more than did its job and I'll definitely go back to see it again.
Either you enjoyed it or you didn’t. I understand the pitfalls of the film, but overall I felt the movie was very entertaining. The action sequences were visually stimulating. In my honest but humble opinion, it was better than black widow and Thor love and thunder. I felt those two moves were horrible. She Hulk has horrible writing yet it was mauled as much as this film. I feel most critics are being knit picky, yes the film has flaws but it provides enough entertainment value that you can over look them
They've could have done some things differently but I really really enjoyed the movie so I probably will be watching it 2 or 3 times

Good time for you and for someone else are subjective. I can watch a bad movie in terms of script but there are other elements that leaves me wanting to go see it again.
This movie was sick….loved the action scenes!!!
The special effects for Black Adam was the part that impressed me the most. I think I came away from the movie thinking about the special effects more than I did the movie.
Except for parts where he's depowered though
@@Iwillone Admittedly, part of what impressed me most is that I live right there where they filmed a lot of the scenes, maybe a 2 minute walk from my front door. Shazam 2 was being filmed very close by, only a couple of minutes walk from one set to the other. I thought nothing of it when I saw my neighborhood in the Shazam 2 trailer. But while watching Black Adam, my eye just happened to briefly catch something familiar, but just as I looked away from the action to see the surroundings, I recognized nothing and continued watching the action. This happened probably 10 times throughout the movie. I'll look up, wonder why I mistakenly thought I saw something sparking familiarity, then I would refocus on the action. It took me that many times to realize that it was the street beside my apartment, and then another street, the one in the Shazam 2 trailer, that I was kept distracting me. They totally made it look like some other unfamiliar place, but because I live here, I guess my brain still picked it up. I recognized it when I wasn't but saw nothing familiar whenever I looked. It was messing with my brain. After I finally realized what was happening, and I really looked when it was shown again, all I could say was, "Wow!" Now I'm surprised I recognized anything at all because special effects totally made it look like a city from another country, not Atlanta.
This is why I don't trust critics. I go to a movie, make up my own mind and hope that everyone else will too.

Black Adam is easily the second best comic book movie this year after the Batman in my opinion, I definitely had fun and I didnt expected anything more from this movie.
Doctor Strange 2 and Thor 4 are still better. At least they both tried something new.

John and Ray's review is so far the most positive I've heard about the movie so far, and yet they are both saying "There is no emotional pull, the villain is lame, and the best parts of the movie are the JSA - not Black Adam." Not good.
Although the movie would've been substantially better with improved writing & CGI effects (particularly in 2nd half), I still enjoyed the crap out of this movie.
It's the most fun I've had watching a superhero film in a long time & I actually became a fan of Hawkman because Aldi's Hodge was just that good on screen! Black Adam was bad ass and I'm glad he was able to be as ruthless as possible!
Man, the poor kid is getting all the hate. But I think the mom was far worst. She was in scolding mode in the entire movie and pointing her damn finger. I hope she’s not in the next movie.
Dude yes! I drew a comparison to Sam Witwicky in Transformers. There you have a better execution of how a descendant deals with the repercussions of his family. Staying grounded and with stakes!
I don’t think Black Adam was ever meant to headline his own movie, let alone one that ostensibly tries to make him a villain AND a good guy.
He was supposed to be in Shazam but they backed out.
Bottom line I had fun. Money well spent. I’d recommend seeing it.
Black Adam should never wear a cape.

How in the world can you guys think the CGI in this was good and not good in She-Hulk? Sabbac looked atrocious, on a $200 million budget.

@@ConnorMcCartney95 No, that's Sabbac in Black Adam, except I won't be hyperbolic like you, it wasn't PS2 quality but it looked extremely bad. And Sabbac had 10 minutes of screen time at most on a 200 million budget. She-Hulk was a main character with a significant presence over 5 hours of footage on probably half the budget or 2/3's the budget.
She-hulk cgi was shit

This movie is going in the right direction...that is the MAIN thing! Dr Fate fight scenes are incredible and worth it alone. Yes the dialogue isn't good at all, and kid wasn't needed. But the action is awesome, reminds me of a movie from 2000's onwards. End credit scene was dope! Definitely wouldn't call it terrible or awful... That's just lazy and wierd!
That's the thing, it feels like the franchise finally has some momentum. I'm all for it.

I gave this movie a 5, it’s right on that borderline of BAD and GOOD. Just very mediocre. Doctor Fate was awesome, Hawk Man was cool. Liked them more then Black Adam tbh.
To me it was just a fun time. It was absolutely the movie I was expecting. The Rock got to play at least a slightly different version of the characters he usually plays and the JSA was fantastic. All the non-heroes were kind of just awful except the brother, he was hilarious.
Had fun. Enjoyed it. The whole movie was hawkman’s line: “we will bring peace, by force”. It was just fighting to fight. No character development/exposition. And all Bteam mismatched adversaries. Oh, and weird place for Jafar to reappear. But so fun, and I enjoyed it.
Black Adam isn’t a well known character I think he should have been introduced in Shazam or in Wonder Woman movie. Similar to how they introduced Wonder Woman in Batman vs Superman

You gotta have Amon, because eventually Black Adam will eventually meet Shazam. The ONLY reason that Black Adam is stronger than Shazam is that Shazam didn't keep all his power, but shares it with others; and Black Adam has retained all the power that his son gave him to him. The setup is so that Black Adam eventually share his power with Amon and his mother (and the crocodile that wasn't featured in the movie), so that he becomes equal to Shazam.
I’ve seen it twice in theaters already, once in 4DX. I loved it, although I certainly can acknowledge all of the criticisms of the film. The bottom line for me is, I had a great time in this movie. And I’ll go see it again.

I thought the kid was there to mirror the foster brother from Shazam super hero merch all over his room , even some of his early lines were simular when asking about black Adams powers and the suit

I just hope the studio ignores the critic reception and greenlight more films, I felt it was well directed, great colors and action, just needs better screenplay. 3rd act Villain was lame, and the little boy got a bit annoying, but I enjoyed it more then i disliked it and when Dr Fate reached out to Adam in the third act is one of those classic film moments I Love. 8/10 for me.
Saw it and I must say I agree that it's fun but lack any originality, it had a bunch of other movies in it like terminator 2, Lord of the rings, 300, X-men and many others that it took from.

This was a good movie. I think out of all the superhero movies, this wasn't nearly as bad as a lot of critics are making it to be. I liked it- 8/10
I don't even think there were 40 people in the Chinese Theatre for 1st showing on Thursday, (3:50pm) kind of bummed lol. That's out of 930 seats in total!

This movie is a mess
I really enjoyed this movie. Obviously it's not going to win any awards for its story telling or dialog but I mean c'mon its a comic book movie! I too left left the theater with a good experience. Movies don't all have to have some deeper meaning to them or push a message. It's totally okay for them to just show us a good time. My personal feelings are that this is one of the better DC movies. The antagonist, while not the best, I feel was still done better than Hades in WW. The movie had a stronger 3rd act than WW as well and a better 2nd act than Aquaman. The pacing of this movie really worked for me as well. It didn't feel too long nor did it feel too rushed. All in all I give this a 4/5 score.
Do you mean Ares? Hades isn't in WW. Personally, I didn't like WW's 3rd act but I liked all of Aqauman. This movie is ok. It's not a great movie, not a bad one. It's about usual for Dwayne Johnson. The Rundown/Walking Tall > Black Adam/Rampage > Scorpion King. It could be worse.

Facts. Story line made no sense. But I loved it. Same with this.
This was a solid movie with some fun action the visuals look really good and most of the action was shot well and I like the characters in justice society but my negatives are the story was not well written the Villa was terrible the third act was the worst part of the movie because it felt like it was so random plus they felt like there was actually no stakes but I still recommend this movie because there’s a lot of fun action and solid things in this movie that makes it fun movie to watch even though is deeply flawed 6.5-10

This movie goes in the trash. Some of us just can't turn off our brains to enjoy a movie ..it's like the kid in you enjoys the action but the rest of you is suffering through the plot...it just bothers me that I feel like im outgrowing superhero movies now because every last one of the phase 4 mcu movies and a few of the last DC movies have sucked

Thor: Love and Thunder is a better-made movie but they're similar in terms of enjoyment. My expectations were lower for Black Adam so I enjoyed it a fair amount though.

Totally agree. This is a fun action-packed movie. I wish the 3rd act villain and 3rd act CGI were a bit better, but overall I enjoyed the film. And yes, the kid took me out of the film. His delivery was not the best, cringe-worthy.

Look at the critics reviews and the general public audience reviews. Massive difference in opinions. Watch it yourself. If you like, you like it. If you don't, you don't. It's just an introduction to the character
It's bad. This genre is dry and another bland fluff is exactly what it doesn't need. The Rock played The Rock. I do like Brosnan as Fate, which is what I expected.

Saw it yesterday technically...I think it was dope. Minus the kid....but even the kid couldn't douse the fire of enjoyment I got from the movie overall. Pure action. Reminded me of some of the action movies from back in the days. Simple story...kinda corny...but the over the top action and the funny bits make it worth it.
Some of these reviews don’t make sense. It was a bad movie but fun. John thought it terrible but he’ll see it multiple times. Who sees a terrible movie multiple times?

The movie was extremely entertaining. There are things they could have done differently, but there was a lot about it that was great. And on balance, you're not just happy you saw it, but you want to see it again. Me too. Your review focuses on the negatives too much.

I didn’t think it was bad at all. I kinda loved it’s anti imperialism message, the fight scenes were probably the best I’ve seen this year and the vfx were refreshingly brilliant. Especially after seeing the vfx in other recent comicbook projects
agree 100% thor 4 and dr strange mom fight scenes/vfx are very pale in comparison to black adam. The mid credit scene feel great too cause Waller sent jsa and they failed and now she send the justice league, that is pretty cool.

Saw the movie last night. The kid wasnt all bad. It was weird, at first didnt mind him at all but longer it went the worse he got. The worst part was his speech to the people at the end. But i dont care. Henry is back as SUPERMAN!
That scene where Atom Smasher accidentally knocks over that pillar and kicks that car and all the destruction the JSA indirectly caused in Egypt. All I could think about was Team America.
That was his first mission so it makes sense.

So John you admit it's a terrible movie but you enjoyed it. Didn't you debate with Rob over and over again about the fact that a movie couldn't be called bad if you enjoy it because if you have a good time watching it then it means it's a good movie for you?
And John has said he doesn't know what the right answer is, cause he knows that quality vs. enjoyment are separate yet often overlap.
