      coldsoupwithsalthe’s referring to the title, “…Carved in Seconds”

    • @AnonYmous-ry2jn
      @AnonYmous-ry2jn 4 months ago +1

      @ccoldsoupwithsaltue, but the quip (echoed by many similar comments) was directed at what you rightly call the “clickbait.” Anyway, even if one grants the title some slack, there is still an expectation that the process will be shockingly fast, which would certainly be an entertaining show even at a minute or two, *somewhat* justifying the title. It happens to be a fascinating video because of the skill, the window into the “art form.” But the title is pure BS, that’s why so many comments like “800 seconds.”

    My father was a night manager in a sportsman's bar 50 yrs ago when I was in Middle School. The owner had a 60 ft fishing boat and took groups out fishing and one day he brought a 950 lb tuna back and my father took us to the bar kitchen to watch the older woman there cut that fish up. They had tuna dishes all week in the bar and my father brought us tuna steaks home all week for 5 people's dinners on his breaks.

    My mind just always keeps forgetting how big tuna fish actually are. I keep thinking they’re like the size of minnows or something, but in reality, they’re bigger than me.

    • @JadusMoltriel
      @JadusMoltriel Month ago +6

      Well, it depends on the tuna tbh. They have a very wide range of sizes you can catch them at (and which they exist at). Ever since I was a very young girl, my father had a 72 ft Hatteras we'd go fishing on, off Long Island, and we'd do several off shore trips (for fish like tuna, shark, marlin, wahoo, mahi mahi, etc) every year. I've caught Yellowfin, Bluefin, Big Eye, Bonita, Albacore, and various other types of tuna, and they've ranged in weight from 40-50 pounds at the smallest, to 10 pounds under a thousand at our biggest (a bluefin). Most were usually in the 100-250 pound range, and those were about as big as I was as a preteen/ young teen. The smaller ones were like half my size. While we certainly pulled in some bigger than me, they weren't exactly common compared to all the others we caught.
      Big Eye can get very, very large as well. But yea, they're definitely not usually bigger than an average human (heavier, sure, but I think you were referencing body size/ length). Just those on the larger end of their size ranges. But when they are bigger than an adult human, oh boy, they can get MUCH bigger! Our biggest catch ever was a Blue Marlin, which was over a thousand pounds, though that was on a trip quite a bit further South down the East Coast. My father and his cousin spent HOURS fighting it, while I had to drive the boat and not mess up the tension/ slack in the line, nor let it cross the boat too much. Very fun memories!

    Estos japoneses despiezan el atún con la misma habilidad que los españoles sacamos provecho del cerdo. Nada se desperdicia, todo es utilizado.

      Judging from the shape of the knife, I think this video was probably filmed in Taiwan. I think tuna is cut up in Japan more carefully, taking more time, and on a higher platform. The tuna in this video seems to have a lot of wasted meat.

    Buen vídeo, pero ese atún no pesa 453kg. Es mucho más pequeño y la miniatura del vídeo no sale en ningún momento, típico de esta era del clickbait en la que vivimos.

    Sarà 200 kg al massimo, ed appoggiare il tonno per terra, camminando sul pavimento con gli stivali ed appoggiando a terra anche il coltello, significa inquinare il tonno!!

    不要再拍地上殺黑鮪魚了,掉價,有時間去跟當地的魚會反應,這種處理高價魚的方式讓人覺得台灣還是生活水平很低的未開發國家

    解体に使用されている包丁から場所は台湾かな?と推測されますが、解体作業が雑に見え
    本当に勿体ないと感じますね。
    頭の部分は刺身や焼き・煮つけで本当に美味しい部位が多いのに雑な解体に見えます。
    腹の大トロ部位の解体ももっと丁寧な解体なら可食部位が多く取れるとも感じます
    血抜きも足らず赤身部位が血の為に少し黒く見えますね。
    折角453Kgの超大物の黒マグロなのに、勿体ないと思います。

    Sushi, Ahi tuna salad, tuna salad, tuna sandwiches, tuna with crackers, tuna steak is what I thought about watching that large tuna getting flawlessly carved in 257 seconds. 😋
